I actually did mean the i5 3570, just without the -K suffix. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115233) Is there a problem with the CPU i picked? On the other hand, thanks for your response! I will look at the power supplies you have suggested to me. Regarding the case, I guess I will just look for what looks the best, since all those features don't really mean too much to me, the computer novice.
You talked about CPU fan curve controls, can you go into a little more detail regarding how I can purchase / find out about motherboards that have such features? I don't see this ability in the specs sheet of motherboards; but from what you said, it seems like this functionality exists independent of mobo type (as in z77 / h77). I assume the board I have mentioned, the asrock pro4/mvp, does not have this feature...? (I don't know where to look for it!)
Mistake on my part, didn't realize there was an i5-3570 non-K model. It's fine.
You should care about some of those features... if you care about easy installation and service, cable management, low noise, easy-to-clean dust filters, etc.
As far as I know, Asus mobo's with Fan Xpert listed on their spec sheets have some good options in BIOS for controlling both the CPU fan and case fans. Otherwise I'm not too sure about other boards and it's just easier to get a low-noise CPU cooler and maybe a fan controller for case fans (if they end up bothering you).

It doesn't need to be ultra graphics, but the higher the better. It certainly helps if you have very good internet. You'll be able to put less CPU into encoding. ping:10 ms download speed: 32.63 mbps upload speed: 5.62
I never knew if this was fast internet, is this reasonable for streaming?

Yeah that'll work. The other things I said still apply though.

ok, is that a fast internet speed? i haven't ever compared with other people befrore

about 6 times mine, and i stream at a reasonable 720p
|
0_o well I guess I'll be just dandy.

Internet wise yes but streaming is very CPU intensive.

I do not think that this is discussed here should I use HDMI or DVI?

Whichever is available on both devices.
SC2 needs very little for GPU resources. But most of your AAA titles need GPU resources like crazy.

Well I only play SC2 and Diablo 3. My monitor has HDMI and DVI and so does my video card. I have both a DVI cable as well as a mini HDMI to HDMI cable.

HDMI is basically just DVI+audio. Video quality shouldn't be different at all.
|
If I may suggest. Stick with DVI.
HDMI will use or tie up PCI-e resources to delivers its audio. Normally this isn't a problem at all since the audio is low bandwidth but there can also be bus conflicts because we live in an age where PC games are shipped first and tested later. This can be an issue, even if you arent trying to get audio from the device.

Dynex Mid-Tower ATX Case (rear 120mm fan)
Upgrade CPU: Q6600 Core 2 Quad Processor 2.4GHz, OCZ Vanquisher CPU Heatsink MOBO: Gigabyte P35-DS3L GPU: Sapphire 4870 512MB DDR5
Keep PSU: Antec Earthwatts 500W SSD 80 gig for the OS/programs, HDD 500gb for storage
Basically, I want to slightly upgrade my cpu/mobo/gpu/ram/(heatsink?) since they use ddr2 ram and the mobo and/or cpu are dead anyway. I'll keep using the ssds and psu unless the setup requires more power. I just wanna play d3/dota2 at high settings. No budget, but $400~600 would be nice. Any suggestions?
Thanks :3 Lemme know if I missed out on any details~

Z77, 3570k, 2x4gb DDR3 1600MHz cas9, and 7850 should be about $600.
