Who would dare? it is indeed pointless when the game balance is in its current state. how could any Terran win? Few people would deny that Maru is the greatest Terran ever and his skills are pushing the limit of human ability in SC2, and yet if you throw endless waves of ling bane at him, he will be overwhelmed sooner or later.

Somehow, whenever I'm trying to throw endless waves of ling bane at somebody, the "endlessness" ends pretty quick, which leads to me failing pretty hard.

It still require the right control to do mass LingBaneHydra smash into Terran base, and Maru was almost able to stabilize in both games until his Factory units ran low. But I have also seen Zerg player who just A-Move lingbanehydra with little micro , aka Soo vs Byun, and still manage to break the Terran

Maru teched to hard to ghosts when he would have done better just pumping mine/hellbat from reactor factories. I think a rapid ghost transition to lategame makes sense when your opponent is transitioning as well into lurker/BL/ultra lategame. But Serral keep swarming with cheap ling/bane hidra. I think a less focus on getting ghosts asap and a more 2 step transition when you first reach a good mine/hellbat count and a good factory infrastructure and then move to ghosts is key to defeat this Serral counter to Maru turtle style. The biggest advantage Serral has at sc2 is that he can see how its opponents play vs high level zergs and integrate their ideas into their play ( I am looking at the cool Dark parasitic ghost control) whereas there is no other Terran like Maru. If Maru had seen that style in particular coming from serral at any point of the upper bracket, he would have been more ready I think.

Another good quote was "a race with superior economy shouldn't also have such versatile units".
