There will be a Korean stream and an English stream with unannounced broadcast talent on the Blizzcon-Strategy channel. It starts 12:10 AM CET on Saturday.
This actually sounds kinda cool. Better than nothing. Finally we have some info about it!
edit: I just saw that theres already a thread in the BW section maybe delete this post? idk
wow...not impressed, neither hyped tbh. Very uninspired and not what at least I was imagining, when they said "there will be some kind of sc2 event at Blizzcon." Blizzard never fails to dissapoint these days
What's super funny, is that this overlaps with IEM and ASTL. So more proof that this whole thing by blizzard was just an after thought. Really don't know why they are trying to squeeze in a Blizzcon in February. Would have been way smarter to just have it on the usual date late in the year. That way they have more content to announce.

They have a major WoW content update to reveal, plus probably a release date for OW2 or Diablo Immortal to announce.
Any StarCraft is better than no StarCraft, but this kind of haphazardly put together event really feels like a case of trying to please everyone but ending up pleasing no one
Last is way to recent and unaccomplished to be in the bonjwa/greatest category. I don't disagree that he is awesome though and if he hadn't experienced injuries, he might have a few more championships under his belt. I'm surprised he's even playing given his condition.
Ranking of these matchups: If these maps are SC1 versions, it should be a landslide for the BW players.
If these maps are SC2 versions, I think the MVP + Nestea 2v2 would be the only heavily favored matchup for the SC2 pros.

There are aspects to brood war other than 1v1 that interests people. I lot of people plays BGH, FFA etc. Artosis has hosted some FFA's that are pretty entertaining.

That's not a lot of content lol, and it also begs the question what do they announce with the Blizzcon after this? Not like they are taking on many new projects.

I am pleased because my lord and savior MVP has made an appearance
Individual also is a FFA on Big Game hunters? That realy sucks. I m fine with 2v2, it s a great format for such an event, but no 1v1 at all is realy taking it for me. Also I probably don t follow the scene long enough (and don t follow BW at al) to have an opinion about any of those players but PartinG

After the recent statement about the „multiple mobile WarCraft Games“ I‘m scared shitless that they have the audacity to repeat their Diablo:Immortal disaster
Blizzard is a giant piece of shit lol. I can't wait until this site fully moves over to covering Dreamhaven/Frost Giant stuff, once they get further along in development. Dear God, what a clusterfuck of capitalism.
2v2 is a good format but PP vs PP on LT has 0 appeal, at least get python and like tz vs pz or something. Not to mention the obvious disparity of skill between the teams for BW.
No 1v1 is also unfortunate... Overall an odd choice

If they tried to invite Life, no other Player would have agreed to Play. Why should they invite the Player, that killed their game in Korea anyways?
As a filler event around a normal SC2 Blizzcon I’d think this was pretty cool, as a stand-alone thing and with other events going on it feels a bit, meh frankly.

Really disappointing. I probably won't even watch. Based on the vague description, I was expecting something like a fun, proleague-style bo7 between 2 teams. This is just lame.
What irks me about this event is that is only looking backwards: "Here are some players who were at one point the best in the game. We are bringing these legends back one more time." There is nothing for current StarCraft II pros, as if the scene was already dead. Blizzard treats StarCraft II competition as a thing of the past.

All the current best sc2 players are probably busy that day playing this small online event called 'iem katowice'

Yes. Events like IEM and BlizzCon are planned months in advance. There was no interest in adjusting the schedules to allow for current StarCraft II pro players to participate at a BlizzCon event.
Will they play the WoL version of SC2? :-) Jokes apart, it is better some StarCraft than no StarCraft, but I do not see audience for this given that it overlaps with IEM. If they hire Tastosis then maybe...

Wouldn t be suprise if they Don t even have any bw/sc2 caster for this and just the intern, Who s responsible for "strategy games" this week does the casting

I am really curious who they hired to cast. Nothing on the Twitter feeds of Tasteless and Artosis about it, so I guess it is someone else.
I mean you al have phones right? LUL This is following those same foot steps, they are trolling us almost, feels like a dollar bill on a fishing line that is endless.
lol this feels like SC2 fans being a kid wanting to play catch or something with his dad (blizzard) but the dad hardly wants play and puts low effort, and the kid is even sadder lol.
Would be funny if they made big announcement about having new map pool after IEM. Everybody outside the community would probably think that being great thing compared to previous years and in light of present changes.

Yes, but this is not a LotV map, hence the weirdest SC2 game if they still play it there. If they play a WoL game on a random patch, it'd be as good as having them play some StarCraft: Immortal

I mean whoever organized this was clearly either crazy or not particularly interested so I wouldn't be surprised
For what it’s worth, looks like tastosis is casting it. I wonder whether they’ve had a long-term contract in one way or another, which would explain them not being involved in IEM events.
Nevertheless, this makes it all the more watchable, and I’ll definitely check out a few games. Just having nestea and mvp there alone brings back some memories, and nostalgia seems to be the general theme in gaming these days, anyway, amirite?
I watched the VOD. The event was almost exactly 2 hours. Not a must-watch, but I enjoyed the second game 2vs2 on Lost Temple SC2, the 3vs3 on Big Game Hunters SC1 and the SC1 free-for-all.
What I liked about the event: - This was a good mix of storied players from both SC1 and SC2 and from all races. - They did hire Tasteless and Artosis to cast this after all. - MVP nuking Last in 3vs3 was pretty hype. - MC's mass Dark Archon strategy in the SC1 free-for-all was great to watch. - The SC1 free-for-all was really fun to watch.
Things that could be improved: - This was prerecorded and then cast from replay. Made it less exciting. - This was not really competitive. Spawn positions were a major factor in 3vs3 and in free-for-all. - In 2vs2 and in 3vs3, SC1 players dominated SC1 and SC2 players dominated SC2. No surprises here. - The first 2vs2 was all Protoss. I could not tell players of the same team apart. - Not getting a supply count in the SC2 free-for-all made the game harder to follow.
MVP/Nestea bunker rush and baneling bust Last. effort does counter damage to Nestea with roaches. MVP swoops into Last's base with Banshees. Nestea is taken out by combined efforts of effort/Last, but MVP wins the match with mass Banshees.
