After rebranding from Wolf's Lair, where money was already an issue, payments were late, and contracts were... questionable pieces of paper.
The new team Wolf's Pack continues their shady operations. As of today their team leader Nightwarrior, team manager Fazz, and players: ShaDoWn, HateMe, and InZaNe have been kicked from a team mid tournament.
For those who don't know, Wolf's Pack operates from a single person sponsorship (yes same as long forgotten Invasion Esports), but this sponsor doesn't randomly disappeared. Instead, lawyer has been hired to help him opt out of contracts, without somehow telling players what is going on.
However Fazz decided to speak about it, and is currently being currently being threatened to be sued by them. However I don't have any contract with them so I'm just helping spreading the news about this new Invasion Esports 2.0
Fazz's tweet: (please read the entire tweet chain)
Currently there is no statement from a team, but I would be surprised if there will be any.
UPDATE1:
So actually Fazz made public screenshots of his conversation between Wolf's Pack owner and his wife.. there are several threats on his life and the who conversation is a bit egoistic. However I've been told that WP management trying to cover this up by trying to resign few players back!
UPDATE2:
Wolf's Pack statement has been posted on their twitter... this basically confirm release of HateMe and InZaNe mid HSC. They also stated that main sponsor/owner and his wife aren dissociate from the team. Which doesn't make any sense since it the team would be out of money atm.
UPDATE3:
I have been contacted by Wolf's Pack management. Apparently they are currently working to fix the issue, however pretty much confirms everything above actually happened. I'm not going to state any conclusion and I will continue to dig out more information and watch how the team operates from now on.
UPDATE4:
Wolf's Pack website was shutdown with no following statement from the team

"Left" haha yea... thanks for that

Shitty situation with some solid players getting screwed .

Is it just the sc2 team getting kicked out or are there some other divisions that are getting the same treatment?

Afaik Wolf's Pack had only StarCraft 2.. so Idk what is going on...

|
It's same in also a single persons sponsorship, it's a different person. I have met the owner of Wolfs Pack, 2 days ago at HomeStory Cup. He seemed to have a great time with the InZaNe, HateMe, Nightwarrior among others in the scene. He paid for the drinks and food at HSC for us all. So this makes things only more confusing...

That's odd. And very sad for everyone involved.

I understand alot of the people who sign with these kind of things are young but people really need to think before they act

I agree fully with you. However, there is no big union for players, that is easy to get into. These young (18years old) are practically signing their first contract and are hyped because they got offered one. This is what I was trying to achieve in the team personally, to change their contracts and internal communication. To get the team to be more professional and mature, but that might actually "killed me" in regard on the team. Me trying to be a change in the team, let alone in the scene.

the official statement said nothing about him not being
also we have someone of the team on liqui discord (sc2 channel) who said its still open with inzane (and i know that is true from another source as well) the decision isnt made yet with inzane, at least not yet (although a direction is foreseeable and the decision should be made tomorrow)

If inzane is smart he will jump ship asap.

Update 3 is up.. I got in touch with WP management!

Unions would just make it worse; people really need to read what they sign

This sounds like some real Vanilla SC circa 1999-2003 shit.
Haven't been paying any attention at all to the scene, but this stuff certainly happened with 'single person sponsors.'
Hey kid want to be paid $300 bucks a month to play for us? Sure, better than nothing.

i feel like any real lawyer wouldnt say 1/3rd of the shit that lady has said. lol

After I was on the Discord and talked with players also with managers.
it's true that @Fazz was in the managment, too?
One of his first tasks was to correct the player contracts, that nightwarrior wrote ?
According to #general chat, players were notified by Nightwarrior - that the contracts had errors, he had distributed.
Nightwarrior, who drafted the contracts, was kicked out of the management for the some reasons.
Nobody wanted or could tell me why.
Fazz was kicked out of the management because he did not fulfill his duties with the Contracts and other tasks?
So he complains his own unfinished work, right now ?
Sounds a bit like a dissatisfied ex-manager.
When talking to the Wolf Pack players who should be affected.

How would unions make it worse? It probably won't be an union in the legal sense of a representative of employees, because of how scattered the scene is across countries, which would make such entity unpractical. But an organization funded and maintained by players for the players, helping them in legal issues, demanding certain conditions to be universally met and advising players against shady practices would be extremely helpful, considering the youth and life inexperience of most players.

Do the players actually have to pay taxes if they have more income than the free allowance, including Lan support?
The assessment limit is not that high. At least in Greece, it is 8000 € per year including all income.

I would like to immediately say this is not true. I joined the team as a team manager of the pro team. My jobs in the team were but not limited to: Player engagement, make sure the player's needs are being met. the players meet their contract's obligations, Team League line-ups and supervising, and due to the other manager's language skills I was mostly active with the players talking about the game, their progress, their school, their work and what's going on in their lives to give them some head space. This indeed is not a lot of work, but I was unpaid and had no contract. I did this job out of passion for the scene and for the game. On the side I have been working on reworking the contract. So it's false that my only purpose on the team was the contract, it was only a "smaller" side project of mine due to my interests in it.
I would also like to talk about the #General chat. Players might have been notified by Nightwarrior that the contract had errors. This was known for longer than 3 months. However, these contracts were still legally binding. They weren't good, but legally binding.
I have seen my kick coming for a few weeks, I am not going to lie there. There was a language barrier between the team owner and me, and the team owner started doing many, many weird things behind the managements back.

I agree with you. This is what I meant. A real big legal player's union is too much of a hassle at the moment. But this is already happening in the USA: https://twitter.com/Morrison https://twitter.com/esportslaw Both of these two great gentlemen are representing players in the US, helping players in legal issues (like Tfue), demanding certain conditions in contracts

The contract I was working on, was indeed a side project of mine. This wasn't the reason I joined the team. Only when I asked about the player's contracts, a few days after I joined, I started working on it. You're free to message me anywhere if you want

Another update.. wolf's pack website was shut down today.. i checked with their hosting and everything is okay from their side.

That's a very specific interest you have in this.

posting "people should know better" in response to these stories is exactly the same as saying "i don't care, if you get scammed it's your own fault," which is morally as bad as being the scammer.

Wait, wanting people to take responsibility is the same as causing them harm? So are you saying that people are idiots? In that case, how do you decide who is the chosen one to think for them? Getting burned isn't great, but it sure is an opportunity to learn and be vigilant the next time around.
