Read on for previous month's SC2 streaming statistics!
Apologies for skipping a month - I had a lot of things going on in November, and once I had time to sit down and do the monthly post it was almost December already, at which point I figured it made more sense to wait until I could post the November post. You can check Fuzic for October rankings if you're interested in those.
Highlights
- The big highlight here is, of course, Blizzcon! Peaking at 173k, this was actually the most people ever recorded watching an event by Fuzic. Looks like Starcraft 2's healthy enough, and can still draw those big audiences. It didn't hurt that the tournament itself was exciting as well, with Serral making it all the way through to #1.
- HomeStory Cup was the other big event, and scored big as well: 74k watching at day 4. Clearly it's not just Blizzcon, and more generally SC2 can still drum up a lot of attention.
- Streamer-wise, there wasn't that much going on past month. Worth noting that MCanning cracks the top 3 for the first time; he got featured on the Twitch frontpage, which is always a good way to draw in some extra viewers. We'll see if it's a lasting improvement next month!
- Another thing to note is that Serral seems to have started streaming regularly. As one of the top global players he's sure to get a lot of viewers, so he's one to watch if he keeps this up.

Huh? What's this?
I run Fuzic - which collects statistics and rankings of StarCraft II live streams - and these threads are a summary of the viewer numbers for the past month.
Data is sourced from fuzic, and additional up-to-date stats may be found there. But in these threads - which I will try to post at the beginning of every month - there will be a monthly summary so you can get a quick overview of that month's viewer numbers.
Inclusion criteria
The rankings list any stream that is reported on by the APIs of the various streaming services (Twitch, Azubu, etc). I have no way of verifying to what extent someone's viewers are legitimate, and therefore will not independently ban someone from the rankings. Please do not start a(nother) discussion about this in this thread.
The lists
"VxH", or "hours viewed" is the average amount of viewers multiplied by the amount of hours the streamer has streamed during that month. Basically, if for each viewer you count the amount of hours they watched the stream during the month, and add them up, you get this number. The list is sorted by this metric, as it gives a good impression of the streamer's activity through the month.
You can click the links below the charts for additional stats and a list you can sort by whichever metric you prefer.

He’s pretty much always on at the same time, and has reruns playing when he’s not on. His hours are good for NA and EU. He date stamps his livestream so people know what they are watching during reruns. He has a variety of content, casting WCS replays, casting some small tournaments and show matches, angry coach casting subscriber replays, bronze league heroes casting replays, and he ladders and plays auto tournaments. He runs a lot of polls so his viewers can vote on what he does. He puts a lot of effort into overlays, sound effects, and visual meme effects, which give his stream a much higher production value feel than every other Starcraft 2 streamer. He’s also just kinda funny and very relaxing to watch and listen to without fully paying attention. Winter also gears his content and stream more towards new or casual players and he puts out a YouTube video basically every day, which also get good views and probably attract people to his Twitch stream.

Thanks for this response! He has been so active for SC2 for so long, I think itd be great if he was occassionally invited to things like homestory cup so we get a chance to see him in a different element.

He was at Homestory Cup 10 (which was admittedly quite a while ago).

You also forgot to mention that he has/does viewbots. Pretty easy to get views when you keep your computer on 24/7 and still get 300-400 viewers on his re-runs. He's the only person I know that had more viewers on his stream while a GSL Grand Finals was on at the same time. Explain that one.

I'm kind of tired of the whole viewbots discussion, but sidestepping that, I don't think Winter's audience and the audience of a GSL Grand Finals overlap that much. As Zzoram says, Winter's stream is the epitome of casual variety SC2, which is pretty much the antithesis of GSL. So it's not that strange that a Korean tournament like GSL wouldn't affect his viewer numbers too much.

It's pretty easy. If your target audience are newbies and casuals then these people may not even know there's some GSL grand finals on nor they know who's competing in there. Explanation done.

was never a fan of winter because of the dub step music and he plays random
but now that i started playing again(not just watching) hes a good resource
and his angry coach youtbe videos are pretty entertaining

I dont like the dude, but you cannot deny that his stream has a lot of value in many ways compared to most sc2 streams, or twitch streams in general, it's good for the game too.

People have to realize that from time to time you can get bots in your twitch channel, it's something that every channel can experience and it's annoying for the broadcaster as well. People nitpicked Winter at the time and started a crusade against him because he's casual and supposedly steal viewers from better players, but, as others already said in this thread, casual viewers don't care that much about GSL, pro players or WCS anyway. For what it's worth, maybe casual viewers can start from a more relaxed streamer and then get hooked and go to more tryhard streamers or tournaments :<

he was at a homestory cup but since the viewbotting affair most organizers/other streamers etc don't want to be associated with him.
Blizzard got a lot of shit for inviting him to the community summit.

Well - it was a lot more than "occassionaly getting bots in his channel". There was proof of constant viewbots on his channel which led to him losing his sponsorship with Nvidia and getting temporarily defeatured on TL.
The only reason he was able to somewhat save face was because he said someone else is botting him and there's nothing he can do about it. He may be clean now but we don't have to act like he's completely innocent and a victim of witchhunting.
I believe there were cases of other streamers getting viewbotted like HTOmario and avilo but it was completely different with them. They instantly noticed the suspicious viewer numbers and called out their viewers for it while Winter banned everyone mentioning the word viewbot in his channel.

Sorry for the silly question, but I can't remember what was happening at March 2018. I am sure someone already explained in an other topic somewhere but couldn't find. Why was the viewership that huge at that month, even bigger than in November?

March was big for IEM World Championship, that Starcraft 20th anniversary stream, and lots of Nation Wars qualifiers that kept the concurrent viewer average high it seems. November probably had a lot more dead space between Blizzcon and HSC that brought the average down.

its probably not worth Blizzard's limited resources to do a thorough investigation to determine the extent to which Winter currently viewbots. They are too busy policing youtube overwatch players. 
I find Winter's stream entertaining and informative. Is he a big, giant lying fraud? i have no clue. People like a sense of mystery in their video game lore; well, how about a sense of mystery in their video game twitch viewing?

Why would they care though? This should be a prime concern of the streaming platform. They create contracts based on viewer numbers.
