A new month has started, and that means it's time for some fresh Starcraft 2 streaming stats! Apologies for being a little late this time... will try to be a little more punctual next month.
Highlights
- There are few surprises looking at the top streamers - most of the top 30 consists of the usual suspects. TOP has been streaming a lot, clocking in at a little over 7 days (!) of streaming and consequently shot to #12. Scarlett's back as well, not streaming quite as much but making some good numbers with her 24h fundraiser.
- After MedoedTV in December we have another Russian YouTube stream as a newcomer this month - ZERGTV enters the charts at #7, with numbers virtually identical to Medoed. I still don't speak Russian, so if anyone has more info on these streams please share it in this thread!
- With the new WCS season having started, it's no surprise that the top events are dominated by the various WCS and GSL broadcasts. These peaked at the almost 50k viewers that saw Serral take his first premier. Best of the rest were the January finals of the Olimoleague, reaching 7k viewers, a pretty decent number if not quite enough to make the top list this month.
- As always, suggestions and requests are welcome!
Huh? What's this? I run Fuzic - which collects statistics and rankings of StarCraft II live streams - and these threads are a summary of the viewer numbers for the past month.
Data is sourced from fuzic, and additional up-to-date stats may be found there. But in these threads - which I will try to post at the beginning of every month - there will be a monthly summary so you can get a quick overview of that month's viewer numbers.
Inclusion criteria The rankings list any stream that is reported on by the APIs of the various streaming services (Twitch, Azubu, etc). I have no way of verifying to what extent someone's viewers are legitimate, and therefore will not independently ban someone from the rankings. Please do not start a(nother) discussion about this in this thread.
The lists "VxH", or "hours viewed" is the average amount of viewers multiplied by the amount of hours the streamer has streamed during that month. Basically, if for each viewer you count the amount of hours they watched the stream during the month, and add them up, you get this number. The list is sorted by this metric, as it gives a good impression of the streamer's activity through the month.
You can click the links below the charts for additional stats and a list you can sort by whichever metric you prefer.

Shows some growth, if we look at F2P period after and before. Hope it continues

The only thing I know about ZergTV is that he illegally re-streamed events of the Female Starcraft League several times, essentially stealing their content.

Guessing the viewer reduction compared to January last year is due to the lack of Nation Wars this year. Last year January was even bigger than November and Blizzcon !

Rotti did so well in January, he is really putting in the work!
Love these posts, keep it up!

A lot of viewers for DH Leipzig. There would have been twice more with Polt in the final.

I love how Stats always gets a mention in the title!

606 hours? that is 25 days? how?

Rebroadcasts... I think Winter just re-streams during off-time, so he's streaming virtually all the time even if it isn't live.

The site classifies you as such because you cast a lot of events... that works in most cases but I agree that it's wrong here. I've changed it

Yeah, I appreciate that there are some categories of streaming between just "player" and "caster". To keep things simple I'm just counting all streams regularly broadcasting events - as listed in e.g. the TL sidebar - as "caster", which works in most cases, but there will be some false positives. So if anyone else sees a stream that's in the wrong category, do report it and I'll fix it

Well, I watch Medoed streams from time to time, so I can share a bit of info here. He is a Russian streamer from Moscow and a GM/top master zerg player. He's also built a big sc2 community in Discord. As you mentioned before, his main audience is from youtube. I'd say that his distinctive quality is that he can effectively combine active commenting and playing at high level.
He took the 1st place at a streamers competition quite recently: https://goodgame.ru/news/26054/
