There's no way they're announcing two products though unless they are coming out with Diablo 3 in the very near future, like later this year, and are also announcing SC2 is in the making to come out in like 3 years or something. There is no way they'd go to Korea without announcing SC2 in some way. Either that or it's a totally new game and they want to hype it in Korea because Korea is the PC game center of the world and they could get their new game to be a serious e-sport like SC. I'm not sure why they wouldn't just make SC2 though if that's what they want to do.

i think an SC MMO is not out of the question cuz: 1. it's not like it would be coming out any time soon... prolly a year or two still. plenty of time to squeeze more WoW time, and even reinvigorate it more if they announce some sort of tie-in b/w the 2 MMOs. 2. yeah, blizzard would be splitting their MMO market, but its not like they'd be LOSING anyone. They just have MORE to gain. WoW prices are coming down... converts would just be buying the SC MMO at the higher release price and paying premium monthly prices anyway. AND they'd be gaining all the SC fans. It's all blizzard either way. If they were $$ driven, which i think they are, it wouldn't be out of the question to release another MMO. 3. You have to admit, they've been MMO-centric for so long now due to the massive success of WoW, it would be MUCH easier and faster for them to create, maintain, and SUPPORT another MMO game with just a diff theme. Not to mention the more lucrative Pay2Play model than an RTS game. 4. The original developers of SC and BW are all but gone. the RTS group responsible for SC and it's patches are minimal compared to their MMO development team. And being that blizzard seems to hiring more next gen MMO progammers i doubt they have the developers necessary to make an RTS unfortunately. Let's not forget the posts from other TL peeps that seem to support the same belief i have for SC2:MMO http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3159435 http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=25633832 http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159248 http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=163207 Looks like another long wait for a SC:RTS sequel, if ever =( Patch 1.15 was the bone they're throwing to us RTS hopefuls. My second point is if a Starcraft-MMO were made they would compete against each other, WoW vs WoS. And for the third, it takes alot to do a MMO, ALOT of resources. Its risky buisness. They wont release a Starcraft-MMO on saturday, trust me.

Let's look at the definition of what you're stating. MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online... Doesn't that mean Diablo is an MMO? Wouldn't Starcraft be an MMO because massive amounst of people play online? If you're referring to an MMORPG like WoW, then that's different but how is making any of our games an MMO any different than what we've already done with our original Bnet titles?" Sure only X amount of people can play in a particular game. But the definition of an MMO doesn't necessarily dictate every player has to be in the same game nor does it set a quantifiable boundry between an online game vs an MMO. Since there is no defined number of people that constitute an MMO then wouldn't that also dictate that Battle.net is a sort of meta-MMO? Let's take WoW for example. Not every single player is on a single realm. So where do you draw the line that defines what "massive" is? Let's say there are thousands of players playing Diablo II all simultaneously. They're not all in the same game but there is a "massive" amount of players all playing online. Sure it's a matter of semantics on what defines an MMO. But you're simply generalizing what the most common interpretation of an MMO is used for. While you're in the chat channel of Bnet you can easily interact with hundreds of other players, go to their game and exchange items etc. Starcraft II will still be an RTS :D

Its more probable that they release another expansion for WoW but not something entirely new. Hell its more probable they release a completly new title than a SC MMO. The marketing directors that work for blizzard are not that stupid. Read above post. Yes, it could be MMO. In fact, I bet you $10000000 dollars it is an MMO. Read.

Mel_ee: If you read my list of reasons, you'll see how its not stupid and quite lucrative for Blizzard. if you want to address one of THOSE points specifically please do so. It is Saturday Korean time 14:00, which is 10pm PST (Friday night) or 1am EST. The actual opening starts approximately three hours earlier. After the announcement, they will have WC3 and SC after that, around approximately 1 or 1:30am PST. There's a Blizzard WWI schedule posted in one of the other threads.
