Also there's money on the line for every bo3 match, that's cool.
If there was no money on the line for each match, this format would be hell. Go through Challenger 5man group into a 6man group into 4man group to qualify into a 10man group for a chance at $1000
Well the worst thing about the format is that if you didn't get through the qualifiers in season 1, you can't make Premier in season 2. But yeah no money for the matches would also not have been great.

I think the bottom of the graph says that Season 2 also has a challenger, with 6 players entering. So whoever loses out in season 1 may have another chance. If I'm reading it right, that is.
The players from Challenge don't get to go into that season of Premier though. If you read the graph, it says the top players of season 1 Challenge can get into season 2 Premier. So if you qualify for season 2 Challenge, you can win money, but you can't get into season 2 Premier where the WCS points are given out.

Yeah, I just removed my comment, I misunderstood what you're saying. You're right, whoever does Season 2 Challenge will only be able to get WCS points for 2018.
This format is... interesting... but I do like the whole round-robin thing. Should make for a lot of interesting matches! As for the promotion/relegation thing, I'm waiting eagerly to hear Wolf and Valdes try to explain that...

I hope it's gonna be both. From my school I can only watch YouTube, but I know a lot of people prefer Twitch and Twitch also generally gets a better viewers count
Is this going be run at the same time as GSL Season 2? Because as i see it from last year, gsl and ssl games were kinda overlapping. Then most of the time people simply practiced for their GSL game. Even tough in theory they should have the same prestige, it seems SSL is threated 2nd Grade amongst many of the players. Therefore it would have been better in my opinion if it would not run in the same time as GSL or at least make it overlap as least as possible.

They're gonna overlap at some point, even though GSL season 2 starts in April (as this looks to be a very long event). I don't really remember anyone clearly prioritizing GSL though.
I particularly llike the Premier format. If the best 10 players actually make it in there, we could have a situation where each of the best 10 SC2 players in the world play each other, we could really get some solid evidence for who is the best. No relying on a single preferable matchup, no eliminations on a single off-day, and so on.
