No it wouldn't.

He means that at least then SKT would have lost to the champs. Better than losing to some shitty team that couldn't even win the final. It's a coping mechanism when you're a SKT fan.

hi all
im just wondering what the rules are on this tournament or how i can find them, on the wiki page we have all the info about the results and machups but no info on how they are made (usually turnaments on the wikki have a format section explaining how the tournament will go).
like i see during round robin each team plays another each week like in a football championship, but how are the maps and how players chosen for each match.

also in the playoffs i see players winning and playing again, so like here its knock out system untill all players from the other team are eliminated.

where can i find the info on all this?

maybe a noob question but i really enjoy the matches of this league and would like to fully understand the format to better understand the plays.

many thanks

There are 3 rounds. Each round uses a round robin format to have each team play each other team once. These past two rounds matches were held monday and tuesday evening in Korea. KeSPA chooses the maps prior to the start of a new round. Teams are given the map list for a particular match and then chooses 4 players to field on the first four maps. Neither team is aware of who the other fielded until the choices are submitted and the announcement is made prior to that week's matches. Each player will participate in a single match until a team wins 3 maps. If an ace match is needed the ace players are chosen and revealed at that time. The top 4 teams enter the single elimination all kill format playoffs. The 3rd and 4th seed battle with the winner playing vs the 2nd seed with the winner facing the 1st seed. Points are distributed based on standing at end of round with extra points given based on playoffs performance. Top

thank you so much. would be great that they add this kind of info on the wiki page

Yeah, the match is really even and the first map could be deciding factor regarding "who will snipe whom first".
Still I'd say that Stats is slightly favoured against Trap and this makes me a bit anxious about the result :|

All in all Jin Air fighting!

Yeah that's my thoughts. Will be huge if Jin Air is forced to send Maru out early and we get a chance to snipe him.

Especially that both TY and Zest are good matches for KT.
Maru vs TY is 50/50 and Zest is favored against Maru.
Also both TY and Zest weakness is vZ and though Rogue is good I don't think he can snipe both.
So on paper this match look better for KT than JAGW (especially with under performing sOs).
However I believe in good map preparation from Jin Air and nice, tailored builds but for this to work Jin Air have to get an upper hand in choosing players for snipes so first win form Trap is even more important.
So Trap, man please deliver

Even though Stats is a PvP boss, I like the pick to start with Trap. I think this is gonna be a good series.

I think it's going to come down to how Rogue and Maru do for JinAir though.

Well, for the first game, I would still pick Cure instead of Trap, because he would have a higher chance against Stats. But he would have a lower chance against TY.

In the moment we need to be ready that Trap loses to Stats, everything else would be a surprise. And we send immediately Maru, who beats Stats. And KT sends out immediately Zest, who beats Maru. Then, we will have the two attempts to beat Zest with Rogue and sOs. I would be soooo happy if sOs manages to steal that ...

Cure played pretty well against zest in gsl group stage even though he lost .He would also be a good choice as the second player to snipe stats .
Given rogue has some sick snipe builds , but he hasn't been at the top of his game recently. I would go with trap cure Maru sos .

Stats did all kill skt but , he also recently lost 2-1 to bomber and lost a map to 'noregret' in gsl season 2 qualifiers. I wouldn't be that surprised if trap beats him .

Maru vs TY is 50/50 and Zest is favored against Maru.

I would give Maru far better than 50/50 odds to beat TY in a TvT (although I think JAGW would much prefer Trap, and if he fails then Rogue, to face him initially). While TY wrecked Cure 4-0 in their GSL semifinals match, Maru is on another tier, and has ample footage to study along with inside information from his teammate on what to expect.

On Aligulac, the recent results depicted under 'form' are all that matter. And Maru has won 22 of his last 24 games (91.67%). And is 12/12 in the mirror matchup. He's 16-0 in his most recent 10 matches. Including wins over Stats, Gumiho, Dark, and soO. He just went 12-0 combined in qualifying for both upcoming Starleagues.

Maru is leading the only ladder rank that matters, PL Winners Rankings at an unfathomable 11-0 (after two rounds). 15-2 overall (6-0 vT) when including round playoffs. And last time in R1 playoffs silver challenger match, took out Stats, TY, and Leenock in order, before finally being stopped by Zest.

Despite Stats currently being in dominant form and TY looking very strong in recent offline qualifying, there's little to suggest that anyone for KT other than the reigning GSL champion (and clear-cut consensus best player in the world) will be able to topple Maru. And even then I'd only give Zest a 50/50 chance, assuming the map choice is mostly a wash.

Which I realize is absolutely insane to be saying about the greatest Protoss ever in SC2, and the best player in LOTV. But Maru is just that good.

Nice. Maru has one "special ability" as the superheroes do. When some player finally beats him in a game, he is still able to win that game. Although all the fans already stopped watching, because he has lost the game, when they check the results, there is a "W" next to Maru.

That was a sick finals. What a back and forth match. Both teams are so good... Totally played with my emotions. Also did anyone actually expect a different Kespa ruling?

Edit: I just wanted to say this match really solidified my thoughts on how much of a genius sOs is. When he gets out of sc2, he's gonna do something incredible with that quick analytical brain. I literally know nothing about him other than his sc2 games, but I feel fairly confident that he's smarter than I am in most things.

My thoughts exactly.
Stopped watching ESL content in 2022 when the company was acquired by Savvy Gaming Group. Also object to sponsorships by the U.S. Air Force. Thanks for the lively discussions about sportswashing. StarCraft II is not for me anymore.
