Trap beat Reality, TY and Dream. That's a respectable set of opponents. And definitely good enough to deserve getting fielded. Besides, I don't think there's anyone KT would field on Dusk Towers that Cure really wants to play. | ||

JA also has 3 Protoss KT has 3 main pillars (Stats, Zest and TY) JA also has 3 main pillars (Maru, sOs and Rogue) illuminaty confirmed? how about PvP all the way until either of the team has to force out a player from another race? | ||

Would be much better for KT, most of the time Stats would beat at least Trap and Creator. I think Stats beating Trap would almost guarantee Jin Air to send out Maru immediately. Don't really want to lose more than 1 player to him and his vT is his worst matchup. | ||

Well, all these three players, Trap has beaten, are mid quality Terrans. While Cure has beaten herO with an excellent one sided play. So against Stats, Cure would be better. But you are right, the next map might not be that good. TY is the deciding factor - Cure has lost against him, while Trap has beaten him. So maybe Jin Air thought, KT starts with TY or send him as second ... | ||

XY < sOs ----- a little bit different from my scenario, if Stats lost to Maru, I think KT will send Zest out immediately, because #1, TY will probably lost to Maru and make the score to JAGW 2:1 KT, so damage must be stop at once; #2,assuming Zest win against Maru, then he may face Rouge, Zest's PVZ now is not good, so he may lost to Rouge, then KT will need TY with his TVZ to cover up the scord to JAGW 2:2 KT, at this moment ,all pressure will be on TY's shoulder, he must take down SOS, because both he and SOS are the only strong player left in their own team. if TY win ,then KT win , if SOS win, the JAGW win. tbh, both of two teams have similar situation, they only have 3 strong players, so which team lost their three killers earlier, which team lost. | ||

Trap was JAGW's second best player in R2, and clearly earned a starting lineup spot for the playoffs. He's #6 overall on the winners rankings for R2, and is the only player other than Maru to not lose a match all round. He defeated in order: Reality, TY, Horror, Dream. If you don't consider those three Terrans to be serious opposition, then I have no words. In the TL preview for the silver challenger match, I argued that TY wasn't in the S-tier that Zest, Maru, and Dark are (as they made him out to be). But to consider the GSL runner-up not a star, given what he's accomplished thus far in LOTV is laughable. I don't like the choice of Trap being sent out first though. Especially since the odds were high that KT would send out a P on Dusk Towers (the overwhelming odds being Stats, since they want to save Zest for later, especially to counter Maru). Trap has proven this past round that he's an excellent vT sniper, and he's always been strong vZ. Would have much rather saved him to counter TY later on. sOs would've been the easy call for me to start. Despite very shaky play all year, and decidedly mediocre (for him) results thus far in PL, he's shown some very innovative ideas and builds, and he has a proven history of performing in the playoffs. Always been strong in the mirror matchup, and his latest results in qualifying for SSL S2 (defeating Choya, Myungsik, Super) bode well for improved form. sOs is always a threat to get on a roll and win 2-3 games before you know what's hit you (never forgot the reverse AK to send KT to their grave last year, after everyone was already looking forward to D3). Cure is a solid overall player w/ strong TvT (although clearly not on the level of TY). His specialty is vZ, and would be the clear choice against the KT Z line of either Leenock/Losira. Although w/ his weaker vP, it's highly unlikely he'd beat Zest. And even TY would be favored. Against Z heavy teams like SKT, he should definitely start, but against the P dominated KT, Trap is the preferable play (for the round playoff format). Rogue has much of the same strengths/weaknesses as Cure. While looking excellent of late in the mirror ZvZ, and vT as well, his vP matchup stands out as a clear weakness (despite his occasional incredible meta-changing snipe builds). And while being a strong choice depending on the maps against TY/Leenock/Losira, he's a big underdog against Stats and Zest (even w/ the latter's weakest MU). Feel that he too matches up much better against the Z and T dominated SKT lines. *JAGW 4-3 (Maru over Zest in G7) | ||

im just wondering what the rules are on this tournament or how i can find them, on the wiki page we have all the info about the results and machups but no info on how they are made (usually turnaments on the wikki have a format section explaining how the tournament will go). like i see during round robin each team plays another each week like in a football championship, but how are the maps and how players chosen for each match. also in the playoffs i see players winning and playing again, so like here its knock out system untill all players from the other team are eliminated. where can i find the info on all this? maybe a noob question but i really enjoy the matches of this league and would like to fully understand the format to better understand the plays. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2016_Proleague many thanks | ||
