Looking forward to 2016, we as an organization are incredibly proud of how our players performed, and the hard work put in by each player. We feel as though they have set a strong foundation to perform well in foreign events in the upcoming year. To continue adding to that foundation, we would like to announce the acquisition of three new players.
In November, we added Kevin “Goky” Seo, a Grandmaster Terran player from the Bay Area, California. Goky is taking the semester off from UC Berkeley to pursue playing StarCraft at a much higher level, and we found him a positive fit for our roster.
As of today, we are also announcing the addition of two players: KoMa and Mcanning.
Brandon “KoMA” Spinosa is a former 2014 WCS Challenger Terran hailing from Langley, British Columbia. Having taken some time off from the game, KoMA has returned and is ready to bring the Young Money Terran Talent reputation back to North America. He’ll be returning as an active tournament player, and apart of the squad for all team leagues.
“I'm super excited about joining Flipsid3 tactics, as I'm going to take LOTV a lot more seriously than before. I'm excited to grow with my teammates and show good results for the team and NA in general.”
Our second player joining for the upcoming year is none other than Chris “Mcanning” Canning, a popular streamer and solid North American Grandmaster. Mcanning’s goals for this year are not only to grow his presence as a streamer, but grow as a competitor. Expect to see him, as well as all our players, competing in tournaments such as the WCS qualifiers.
“I am really excited to play with one of the best StarCraft II teams out there. Flipsid3 is an exceptionally talented lineup filled with not only skilled starcraft players, but just really good guys. I'm hoping to get some practice out of this, bounce ideas of the other players and become a better player myself while hoping to help my teammates. It will be a great experience.”
We are confident that the addition of these three players will continue to raise the amount of interaction between Flipsid3 Tactics as an organization and that of the StarCraft community. In 2016, we will continue to foster growth of talented foreign players who sacrifice so much to be compete in StarCraft II. This upcoming year, we hope to provide more content for those who follow StarCraft II so passionately. Be on the lookout for additional text and video content from our players.
That being said, we are officially announcing that our former team captain Mark “ElhayM” Leonardo will be leaving the StarCraft II division to head the Heroes of the Storm team. While Mark will still work closely with our squad, we wish him the best in his endeavors on his journey to be a true ultra-casual. SaroVati will also be officially moved to the inactive roster, as he is much too busy with university to currently play StarCraft II, though we will certainly welcome him back when he is able to return. We are also officially removing FlatLine from our roster, and thank him for his time spent on Flipsid3.
2015 was certainly an interesting year for us at Flipsid3 and StarCraft II in general. Here's to a year of fresh, great games!
