for regular brutal achieves mass banshee with some tank worked. i sacrificed artanis and zagara for the most part. never built anything near them. focused on the big ramp up to kerrigan with pfs, turrets, and mass idle scvs for repair. i used kerrigan to snipe just about everything on the map.

i made nothing but marines and tanks for this mission, walled off all entrances with bunkers, had scvs for repair, started to add turrets rather late, bought the mercenary tanks for added punch also, i used kerrigans ability quite deliberately to pick off the big units of each wave, like archons, thors, tanks, ultra, but especially the big air units like broodlords, since my defense didnt have anything else to fight them defending zerg is tricky since you cannot build turrets or bunkers there, i just put even more tanks next to zergs hatchery, and rallied marines there for anti-air when too much of your defense dies just load a save again, as long as you manage each individual wave well your defenses will grow steadily. at the end i was maxed on tanks and marines and had lots of minerals left, so i started to just cover the ground with bunkers edit: reading this thread i realized i didnt even think of making PFs. 2-3 PFs at each entrance might be better than mass bunker, but i dunno, with so many tanks it already seemed like only air units posed a threat, so bunkers might even be better

To get the mastery achievement, around 85% I made a wall of spectres around the choke up to kerrigan, along with a roaming group in the middle to stop air. I used Kerrigan to snipe the 4 banelings on one of the last waves, and made it. (Kerrigan had 13 kills) How do you survive the first big push when there are huge amount of units attacking to Artanis and Zagara at the same time? What units to make at the start? It seems that whatever I do I get rolled because I can't snipe big units with Kerrigan.

You don't really want to kill units with kerrigan in the beginning besides probably the two battlecruisers which attack artanis. Always try to just damage those big units with kerrigan so the protoss/zerg and yourself will oneshot them with their/your units. this might help + Show Spoiler +

Anyway I must say this mission feels like a missed opportunity where you could of played all three races at once which would of made the mission much more fun and memorable. (I'm sure sc1 had a mission you played as two races but I can't remember which mission that was) Last mission of sc vanilla's Protoss campaign, you control both Tassadar's and Raynor's bases. I was also hoping the epilogue would have included a similar mission ![]()

It seems that whatever I do I get rolled because I can't snipe big units with Kerrigan. I instantly salvaged the bottom side bunker and the one next to Kerrigan, giving enough minerals to take expansion + refineries. 1 Tank + Bunker + mass repair can hold the first 2-3 waves so I rallied my spectres to Zagara, killed off the important units (Thors/Immortals/Collosi etc) and had 2 tanks + 4-6 spectres in time for Artanis' wave. Took me a lot of saves to get this part right After that, it was pretty simple turtling with mass PFs + tanks + spectres Didn't use Kerrigan on anything other than Void thrashers but I think you have room to snipe some units if you're struggling

-3 bunkers+turrets+8ish scvs for repair at each entrance of my base - Built 1 extra factory and rallied it to the protoss base. The zerg can survive for a while by just killing the big stuff with Kerrigan. - 2 PFs on the protoss base and the merc tanks to the zerg base. - Nonstop tank production. - Snipe whatever they throw at you. - In the last 10 percent just watch. At some point my second base was full of tanks(12 maybe even more). 6-7 tanks at the zerg with no buildings. Same on the protoss + the PFs. At the end I built a bunch of PFs around kerrigan, they were not needed.

I spent about 3 hours trying to defend Kerrigan with Bio+Tanks and my best was 98%. And i use your strategy and easy win from first time ;D Thanks a lot!

I used vultures to plant mines at every entrance for each incoming wave. I would be able to hold off using Kerrigan's powers until multiple capital ships became a factor. I feel like my composition needed work.. In theory and early on it worked fantastically but I found myself maxing out too slowly and as a result, not being able to spare minerals for multiple bunkers or PF's.

Before I looked here I was trying to keep the wall of bunkers and tanks alive in all four sides, but with my bronze level micro it just wasn't possible. Then I red here about spectres and I remembered a little trick which helped me get through the Protoss defence map in Terran campaign. Literally to make a wall with cloaked units, so the ground units couldn't get through, while getting the entire higher level place riddled with turrets for air defence. At the beggining took Zagara's two gas geisers, to support spectres production. The only problem witch I had was to target the banelings with Kerrigan. At the last try I made a 2 layers of spectres wall, so even if a baneling did pop, I had backup wall ![]()

So I'm playing this on Hard mode and 99.9% sure it's seriously glitched. I haven't had many problems with any of the other missions, but I can't beat this one because Artanis' base makes about 3 units the entire level and it gets wrecked without me being able to save it. The reason I think it's glitched is because the Zerg base actually makes units and defends itself decently, but even when I station huge groups of M&M with tanks to protect Artanis, it doesn't work because he provides virtually no backup. Anyone else having the same issue?

you can click me Early game is hard because you need to make 3 walls really fast and get a lot of tanks, with a small economy. Then it's not so hard! I used Kerrigan beam only on trashers.

I've tried this mission 8 times on Hard diff. Followed every strat in this thread. Still can't beat it. Will have to bump down to normal I guess, though I hate to do it.
