I'm awful at Protoss and getting 1.8 on normal was nail-biting towards the end. I beat WoL and HoTS on brutal but definitely just going to enjoy the ride for LoTV.

Loving the mission design so far. This one was tough.
If you can't jam with the best, then you have to slam with the rest.

I just built ~5 of the big cannons with a ton of shield batteries and little cannons around them at every entrance, dt's are also great between the enemies and your wall

dt wall is the critical piece to the puzzle

I spammed like 10 cannons/batteries per ramp and died at 1.4b


It was two difficulties down but i got 2 bill+ first try while messing around so it can't have been that bad. The DT's help a lot and can entirely stop units like banelings getting through with the shadow dance

it was also like 4 of the huge towers + 10 cannons + 5 shield batteries per ramp

Brutal is for second playthrough. Starcraft campaign likes to do all of that bullshit stuff like "Oh you're doing fine pushing halfway across the map? NVM heres 8 marauders in your main" that makes it really tedious to just go and play Brutal without having done the missions before

DT wall doesn't work so well when every wave comes with an overseer. Also those mega cannons suck. Not worth it imo

Disagree that megacannons suck. They brutalize the hybrid/ultras and you can use them to snipe overseers to keep your DT wall in place. Also if you go for the DT respawn perk they're very cost effective. I just got the 1.8 billion achievement on brutal massing those + shield batteries everywhere (put your shield batteries in front too, messes with the AI trying to get to the megacannons).

Army was stalkers and DTs with a few of those cannon immortals mixed in to help with hybrids/overseers towards the end, and the stun ability from the Spear of Adun to help with banelings. Even with less than perfect micro (to say the least), it was effective.

nice holdout mission, i much prefer missions like these with terran though, and i have to say i liked the last protoss mission from WoL more than this one

also, difficulty was too easy, even on brutal,but i guess its all about the highscore...

just pick respawning DTs, snipe the stones with them, and keep them as a wall while sniping overseers with khaydarin towers.

I can't get 2.2 billion on hard. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Spamming cannons everywhere with the big cannons for support/ extra vs air in the north. So Close every time, 2,173 is the closest.

Anyone succeeded? How did you do it?

Edit: Nevermind, changed up my unit compostion a bit with the same strategy and got 2,340.
On the 6th day JF made Reavers and on the 7th day JF put his opponent to rest

I cant even get to 1 billion on hard, everything just seems to overwhelm me quickly. The first 6 missions were a breeze on hard now this one is tough.

Edit : Changed my strat, expanded much faster and had the money to defend. Fun mission :D.

Lost the first time because I didn't expect the sudden exponential explosion of attackers at the last stretch. Anyway I beat this without korhal or dt walling (never thought of such a sneaky strat :D), but a straightforward strategy of expanding asap and then making A LOT of cannons, dt-cannon-things, and shield batteries - pretty much everything you can spend on a 2-base economy while maintaining some stalkers to take out the initial guardian waves - got me to 1.2bil on brutal. I didn't have the freeze time spear of adun ability either, but had respawning dts, so I spent whatever gas I could spare on dts and hid my dark shrine behind onion layers of cannon/batteries.

My respawning DTs sometimes disappear for some reason, progressively. I don't keep track of them but their numbers are diminishing when I play them. Yes, I do have a Shrine. I was considering maybe there was no space around it, but at times my DTs vanish completely; surely one would respawn, at least. Anyone have that issue?
