hey guys
i wanna discuss about the carrier vs battlecruiser confrontation according to the lore not the game
here are some LORE info about these two
ive spent quite some time diving into the wikis to search some info about these two (as well as novels )
so here is the comparaison
protection:
BC:
neosteel armor ( even harder than titanu=ium)and able to regenerate as well
a defensive deployment of shields (but consumes a lot of energy )
point defence drones (in the gorgon classes only )
the PD drones work preferably on solid projectiles
Nerf carrier
extreamly dense plating that has been subject to numerous modifications at extream temperatures to remove any material imperfection
passive energy shields that can sustain (as a wiki says ) a whole fleet pounding it for a while
interceptor able to chase down projectiles as well
Armament:
BC:
at least 20 laser gun batteries able to make a thick barrage of deadly firepower
plasma torpedoes (only for some classes)
yamato cannon (behemoth class)
the yamato cannon is a nuclear blast kept inside a dense magnetic field)
this beam is extreamly powerful and could easily punch through neosteel as seen in cinematics
24 wraiths stored in (only for the bigger BC's)
j23 barrage ship to ship missiles (for the gorgon class)
heavier BC's can have tactical nukes to bombard ground installations
ps: BC's can store wraiths but cannot produce them
Nerf carrier
a swarm of interceptors (from 800 - 2000) and can produce 200 each 10 mins
an interceptor is basically a strike craft with a very high degree of mobility
it is as big as wraith and holds 2 plasma cannons
the carrier's central computer analyses the target then munifactures the interceptors according to the situation (for example makes faster interceptors for fast targets like wraiths .... or make interceptors with heavier weaponry for armored targets)
in addition ...the interceptors robotic brain attacks the vital spots of the target
to describe the effect of a swarm of interceptors running by ... the novel (starcraft archives) mentionned that a wave of interceptors rapidly teared apart a whole fleet of mutas and guardians ..... as well as it only took 40 interceptors from the quel'ha (a carrier ) to utterly erase the napoleon and the brismark (two BC's)
purification cannon
the wikiS(plural) do confirm that all carriers have a purification weapon able to one shot planets with searing energy beams able to disintegrate an atmosphere and utterly desroy a planet's crust
carriers can store scouts and arbitals for cloaking
ps: if you are asking how can the carrier hold 2000 craft with the seize of a wraith ... its because it warps them in (it doesnt physically carries them.
super carriers have other heavier armament .... but not mentionned .

You should simulate one. Carriers launching scouts and nukes etc.

So then based on your information, it sounds like in a 1v1 the carrier would easily win. 2000 interceptors with 2 plasma cannons each? so one volley is 4000 plasma balls hurling at a battlecruiser.
I don't think even all the PDDs or a full "shield" could stop that.

lol, big BCs hold 24 wraiths, carriers hold > 800 interceptors the size of wraiths

I'm not even reading this past the first paragraph.
I am not the person to usually comment about quality of writing or grammar, but there's a difference between few mistakes or a typo and fucking hell.
No syntax, no proper capitalization, grammar mistakes at every sentences, inconsistent construction....
If you're putting the effort of posting a whole page of stuff, the LEAST you can do is to try to render it easy and comfortable for people that are supposed to read it.

In that case:
I think that the battle cruiser is inherently going to lose because its crew is made up of humans who are dumber than glorious alien race Protoss. The captain of the ship, at least in SC2, sounds like he's drunk all the time, while the alien in the carrier sounds like he's on top of his shit.

BC releases cloaked wraiths, carrier releases interceptors & arbiter for cloak. Both BC & Carrier have no detection.
BC releases PDDs, block interceptors' shots for a while. wraiths take out arbiter. BC charges up yamato cannon.
BC yamato carrier, carrier takes down BC with interceptors, wraiths take out carrier.

The question is - how many carriers are present in the fleet? I mean - to me it looks like airtoss(from lore) is more like current aircraft carrier strategy. AC is a horribly expensive weapon well protected by several other ships. Basically glass cannon (in therms of MMO) So if you want to kill an aircraft carrier you have to go through that defense first and there are not so many AC in the world.
Therefore you can overwhelm the Carrier by many zerg units if the defensive units are killed.

This is still text only, and is already more pleasant to read. And even on the phone you can easily bold a few title words, which also helps a lot.

To be honest, I really miss these Bnet level threads. At some point general feels too much like professional drama or game bashing. Its nice to have good ol' fashion who would win threads and flavor threads once in a while.
