I was wondering though, wouldn't at 3:00 buying time with like 3 probes and the mothership core give you enough time to get a better shot? @arnstein, I think the range of the msc is too short for that, isn't it? | ||

I think the stalker could start winning if he trades some of his shields to chase down probes, but if there's energy for a time warp when he does that, he's 100% dead. So it's a no go. | ||

Also I'm pretty sure that with better micro he could have used a time warp and surrounded the stalker with his probes immediately. | ||

Personally, I think the stalker player was technically favored here. Given perfect micro, I imagine the stalker player would come out ahead, as the range and movement speed would allow for much better "trades". But I definitely believe there were moments where Lilbow could have won it. His probe micro was less than stellar, especially during his timewarps. The TW's are such a critical part of the micro engagements. | ||

Air units are revealed when they attack from a high ground and units in the low ground can shoot them (unlike ground units attacking from high ground). So there is no spot on the map where a MS can shoot at a stalker and not the other way around (and btw, stalker has obviously more range than the MS). You can probably use the high ground to hide temporarily provided you don't shoot, to recharge shields maybe or something, but that's about it. I honestly think like Blargh that in this situation, the stalker player is maybe theoretically slightly advantaged, but any player could have won this because someone's bound to make a bad decision or miscontrol his units. I think Lilbow's best bet was to camp the ramps with some probes and the MS and try to mindgame the stalker to block his path for as long as possible, while using the rest of the probes to kill the buildings. And also, at the end, trying to race the stalker was definitely a bad idea, Lilbow could have figured it out earlier ;D | ||

Lilbow was like down to 5 probes, some of them with low health, if Showtime gets to kill just 1 or 2 more Probes, he can easily outmicro the rest of the Probes + Mothership core with less risky movements and reduce chance of surround a lot and then lilbow is a dead. Especially since it would be a lot easier for Showtime who has to focus on only his Stalker micro and nothing else. No way 3 probes and a MSC would have been enough to defend that assimilator without losing all probes. | ||

And they were almost constantly switching between the assimilator and the gate at the end. There was something like 15 HP left on the gate when the stalker made his last shot, I think. | ||
