I'm really hyped for the new changes. Zerg and Terran seem to be getting a tonne of changes that look highly rewarding, good for the game and fun. The whole economy changes look sick also, will make the game more dynamic and change things up completely.
As a protoss player, it kinda sucks. The new unit looks pretty one dimensional and boring to me, and the changes are predominantly nerfs. Hopefully the second new unit that they're "thinking about" (Please, please be the Reaver) will change my general opinion but at this stage, if everything goes through, it will be time to play either Terran or Zerg and crush every person who still plays Protoss. The warp prism change could be cool if it wasn't countered actively by the newfound popularity that corrupters are going to have and the AA that Terran already possess. Carriers will be more popular which is pretty cool and the Tempest change is stupid but the unit needs another use is some aspect.
I could be very wrong and things could turn out fine. That is why these people make games and I don't. I have faith in Blizzard though, as they've produced some of my favourite games in the past. They cop a lot but the changes show that they're trying to make the game more interesting for the players, viewers and community so you can't really complain too much. Time to adapt and enjoy the great game they will deliver!
TL;DR Game changes look cool, Protoss shafted in my opinion but time will tell.

I am really excited about these changes. I do think a lot of the problems people are thinking of are much less of an issue than at first glance.
Early early attacks seem like they will be unable to hit much before what may be more standard timings. I mean every race can pretty much immediately build supply and structures, proxies and equivalents will probably hit slower than 'standard', the minerals will be available before getting a worker across the map.
I am imagining a lot of interesting tactics and situations. All of the units seem to have a lot of interesting potential.
About protoss, disrupter from robo bay with a warp prism/forcefields, or putting up screens of interceptors along with carriers being much faster to build i am not sure I see why you would lose interest in playing them.

If Blizzard is willing to do such drastic changes to the economy, I hope they'll consider having SC1-style solo geysers that give 8 gas per return. I can still remember all the Idra games where his opponent faps in a corner while he takes the whole map, then ends up having no minerals and 3000+ gas when he tries to reinforce.
It takes waaaay too many workers to mine gas...if you take 5 bases, you need 30 out of your -70+ workers just for the geysers.

So they finally decided not to be stubborn about not buffing the Carrier.

wow i'm really blown away by most of the changes announced, but this disruptor looks plain stupid, just another unit that forces micro from the opponent, but not so much from the protoss. Also flying locusts that are able to land in base isn't that good, should stay in the air if upgrade is researched. Of course there will be plenty of changes until we see final product, but I'm already SO thankful to Blizzard for listening to the community and finally trying the more BW'ish approach that so many have wished for, so many more options, Flash, I LOVE StarCraft!!!!

Any announcement as to when Legacy is comming?

You're compensated with two gas geysers per base on our beloved ladder maps. Obtaining gas was even more difficult in SC1 geysers than SC2, especially with the pace of the game.

Yeah i wonder what it will all entail. People are talking about the 12 worker thing and less minerals per base but until we see some gameplay who knows whats been done. "Major changes" hmm..

With this mine stasis thing they could remove the attack on the oracle and give us the reaver ♥

Nothing official, but the beta is rumored to start in january already.

Man, I am completely hyped now. Can't wait to see how all these gigantic changes will work out! So glad they finally decided to blow the whole thing open, it's fucking great!! :D

Literally less than 5% of this post will survive to the final version of LotV, so I don't see any reason to get excited.

I can understand all of you not wanting to see the 12 worker change, I mean, if they'd implement that we'd all lose those 3 awesome minutes of worker building, barracks blocking and / or reaper expands. I really can't imagine how the competitive scene would survive that..
I mean, if there's one thing that'd be totally disgusting it would be some completely new strategies instead of small variations on a build order everyone uses. If I'd never be able to see another double hatch into 5 minutes of extremely exciting boner-inducing hard droning I don't know how I'd be able to live with myself....

Stalkers had better get a significant anti-air buff, or Protoss is completely fucked.

It takes waaaay too many workers to mine gas...if you take 5 bases, you need 30 out of your -70+ workers just for the geysers. You could, possibly, maybe, put more workers on minerals and not blindly take all the gasses. If you are getting 3000+ gas and no minerals while having plenty of bases, you are just messing it up to be honest. It's never been a concern in starcraft 2 games because it tends to work out to just take all the gasses, but if it doesnt work out you could like, try to think and find the super easy solution.
Though the one gas would be nice. It creates this strategy about shutting down opponents geysers instead of bases, if that is more easily done.

Well - for those who think that the Disruptor is stupid - I beg to differ - because IT REWARDS skill to do that.. There would be nothing more awesome than to see Disruptors, Psi-storms and that Oracle ward to do CC in armies ahead, while still having the Sentry/Colossi/Warps comps to defend
The death-ball still is viable, but the other races have such good anti-deathball tools IMO that would capitalize so hard on it's mobility issues I guess (such as the Cyclone, and perhaps even the herc in some ways - similar function to dropping zealots on them)
The thing is - yes - the changes for the Protoss feel "bland", BUT - they were already in the best spot overall anyway, and try to see the whole picture here - there wasn't a single known unit scrapped
BUT - the changes are SO DAMN DRASTIC with so much courage to be made.. I LOVE that
ACTUALLY - the ONLY change I REALLY dislike is the Nydus is now invulnerable in the spawning phase.. THAT is OP tbh

Still hoping we will see high ground advantage and the double gas being replaced with a single high yield gas on all expansions.

lotV wount be about Deathballs anymore.
