As of tonight, 09th August, 2014, we can say mYinsanity's italian prodigy zerg player Reynor, at the precise age of 12 years and 40 days old, is the youngest player worldwide to reach GrandMaster league.
Playing from myInsanity's Gaming House, team he joined on 12th November, 2013, he received his promotion tonight at 03:28 AM (CEST).
Despite his young age, he already attended international events like DreamHack Open Bucharest 2013 and 2014, DreamHack Valencia 2014 and Vasacast Invitational 2014.
Fully supported by his family, we foresee big things coming for our little italian pride.
Congratulations to Reynor for his accomplishment, from his friends and all Italy!
Watch Reynor in action!

Oh god, I've been playing for 3 years now, and I'm still diamond. Way to get people depressed with posts like these T.T
J/K Good job kiddo

Nice, 12 year old up at 330 am to play a video game. Not like he's still growing and needs sleep right... sleep at night and sleeping in the day is not the same thing. Some of our hormones are released on a circadian schedule, not least cortisol.
Use a little more common sense in future.

Someone other's hormones are released only on TL, isn't it?

Pretty sure Maru was GM when he was about 5 years old.

I know right? A child who didn't go to bed on time. There's just no accountability anymore.

You don't go to school 12 months a year. That plus even during a school week you're only there 5 days a week and you're not there all day. Kids play a ton of games anyway, might as well train really hard for one if you're going to spend your time playing anyway.

Lol cause 12 year olds all go to bed right on time every single night. Do you want to provide some evidence for your last point? I'm a shift worker i know the effect working at night has but the suggesting that the occasional late night will affect a child's growth is a pretty big statement. If you're just trolling, and it's sometimes hard to tell, then feel free to ignore this post.

Really? Are there no similar or younger KR GMs?
Nice plug, I guess.

staying up at night is important if you want to stay small and cute.

i wouldnt call this kid a prodigy, if you put enough time into playing sc2 you can get gm no matter your age. this kid just played the game for a very long time. not really prodigy to me.

I don't know when you saw him playing at that time, but if it happened it was more the exception than the rule. The kid is a pretty normal 12 years old, I wouldn't say he plays more time than any average 12 years old nowadays.
But hey, if you wanna be negative at all cost, I'm not here to stop you

Congratulations Reynor! A fantastic accomplishment.
I eagerly await your GSL win in a few years down the line.
