Well ok...not exactly "rally"...

But instead of using the base camera to collect every single queen, consider this alternative to collect all of your recently built queens!

The idea that this might work this came to me in a dream, and I nearly soiled myself when I tried this out and my dreams became a reality. Ok ok I'll admit... I actually soiled myself...

I present to you, Dasian's Queen Alert Gathering Technique!!!!

Let mass Queen strategies be unlocked for noobs of all APM levels, and may the meta never heal

For the Swarm!!!!

uhh... I wonder why zerg players actually need to rally queens...

It's never useful unless its super late game, or it's a custom game

Queens are extremly good against voids, in my opinion better than hydralisks.
If you are low on gas you can build them to defend voidray allins or even in the lategame against mass voids, if enemy got no HTs. Also they are quite fine in an ultralisk composition.

or, like, you're trying to defend against a protoss 2 base all in and you need units that don't cost larva...

Seems useful as mentioned for some of the instances above, though it's more of an idea to use an existing feature from Blizzard and not really a new technique.

Kind of makes you want to just play Monobattles and pick Queen merely for this though lol

Hmm, but if you spawn 3 queens, then a ling, then 2 queens, then a drone, wouldn't you have to press 5 buttons, not to mention some might get lost, due to too many actions.
Isn't select all army command better?
But it's certainly a feature that is not being used by anyone I think.

Yep, knew it, but thanks for the reminder, because it is something I had forgotten at one point.
I haven't ended up with a lot of queens in recent times, but I was using this when last I was!

Does select all army select queens as well? Didn't know that, that is weird.

And you would just have to press one additional button. Hold ctrl, click first 3 queen icon then 2 queen icon, then rally/add to control group!

Select army does NOT select queens. In HOTS beta it did, but people hated it so they are excluded

Ah, this is cool! I've always been tempted by the idea of building extra queens to beef up my army without spending gas, but the lack of rally point is definitely a big minus for me. I'll try it out next time the occasion presents itself.

Btw, how long does the notification stay there? How fast do I have to be?

Only a couple of seconds if that. You definitely have to be ready for it, especially if a lot of other stuff is building.

Hmm, may be tricky at my silver level reaction speed and awareness, but every time I catch it I'll save me some time I guess.

Queens spawn near hatches.
Hatches are checked very ofte :you should spam your camera bindings every 15 seconds.
So if you want to hotkey new queens you don't have to use this feature and look out for alerts...
It was a nice idea but I wouldn't recommand trying it : it could be a bad habit to catch.

You would mostly use this whenever you need to go mass queens like against Voidrays, where it can be quite a hassle going through your bases and selecting all the queens individually.
Did not know this, good tip!

Wouldn't this also grab any other units that were recently made, they all show up in that tab don't they?

But it's a neat find if not, thanks for sharing!

actually iirc you will select all 5 of them by clicking on the most recent "queen has been built"-notification.

No, the alert shows a picture of a Queen specifically, and as they pop the number in the alert increments. If you made other units they would get their own separate alert icon

Sick city. As new alerts pop up do they move the first alert or appear below it in descending order? J/W if this alert moves around or not. Being able to use precise muscle memory would be pretty important.

The main annoyance for me, the few times I've built larger number of queens, has been that I wasn't really sure which queen was the inject queen. It is not always convenient to have the inject queen at the top of the hatch to be able to tell the difference. And if you select your queen hotkey you can't keep shift-selecting the other queens you want in your army... This method would solve that.
