I honestly don't know who said that to you, but every single person I have talked to in the starbow community is really really nice. Add me on battle.net and I can explain some things to you if you want. That goes for any noob too. I'm sorry to hear that. There are some bad apples on the mod unfortunately, I don't know how many games I've won where people have complained about Protoss or balance in some form, said it's the worst they've ever played, etc. That said, if you play SC2 and enjoy it, a game where I've been told to kill myself, get cancer, etc. (all while being a completely standard player), then I think you can toughen up. | ||

I think Kabel is about to do something pretty interesting with them: Increase their probability that Scourges will overkillI. Right now, while they do overkill, they are still somewhat intelligent, so if you tell 10 scourges to a-move vs 5 Corsairs, and you try to micro away one of the Corsairs, then only around 4 of the Scourges will continue following the (one) Corsair and eventually overkill it if it if they catch up to the Corsair. However, by further dumbing down the AI of Scourges, then all 10 of them will continue to follow the Corsair and overkill it if a-moved. Or alternatively, the protoss player can micro the Corsair around in circles while the other Corsairs will kill the Scourges. That should make micro possible for both sides as the zerg player will have to micro each individual Scourge rather than tell all of them to a-move. Thoughts on that? | ||

It obviously isn't a diverse MU, but lots is going on underneath the surface; and there is still tons of decision making that goes on in any given game. Even so called build order disadvantages aren't necessarily that bad (well 12h v 9 pool speed is pretty damn challenging) and even the player that is at a "disadvantage" has things going for him. Good example would be say overpool v 12 hatch. At first glance it seems like the 12h player is at a significant advantage, but there are opportunities for the player with overpool to capitalize on such as having faster muta, or faster access to superior ling mobility from speed. There are exceptions, but most good ZvZers don't think of the MU as boring and nor do they think of it as "build order coin toss". | ||

Personally I dont really like changes that are in the direction of making the AI dumber. In your example I find it very reasonable that 4 of them follow the corsair (so is it always double the required scourges that follow? or perhaps scourges needed+2? or was that just a random number perhaps?). Anyhow if scourges are proving to be too strong I'd rather want the splash damage reduced as an example. Or perhaps health reduced. Personally I think it's really cool that scourges have splash damage in Starbow. | ||
