Guess eg is not my favorite team anymore :/ I guess to most fans, someone with a cool personality is better than a talented player :/ Again, why is machine even on the team?? When u have a player who qualified for blizzcon, u still keep some random, terrible player that not many people know about? Hopefully they go to a team that values their talent, and not their personality That was harsh by eg honestly, just throwing away peoples jobs even though u had a contract with them I wonder how jaedong is, hes the only korean on eg now. I guess it wont matter too much, since egtl house closed, but i recall him saying in an interview that oz and him were really good friends, so that must suck Best of luck to the three of them

Hope they can all find new teams

And everything I predicted in the Revival thread came true. Not to toot my own horn or anything hehe. *toot*
So we can pretty much surmise that the 2011-2012 Korean-to-foreign-team thing has ended, with teams realizing that the foreign fans are not interested in these kinds of players unless they are willing to make an effort to show personality and connect with the audience.
There will always be the more serious Starcraft crowd that will root for these players, but this is yet another sign of how much power casual viewership has over the industry. I wouldn't count EG out from adding other Korean players on the team in the future, but they'll make damn sure that said players are popular, superstars or at least try to communicate with fans. This is a business where pure skill doesn't mean much when you shut yourself off from the world and don't interact with the people that are essentially paying the bills. It's just the way it is.
P.S. I'll add that this is of course sad for any player to leave a team without a place to go. I hope these guys can find a home soon.

nooooo alive nooooo please someone pick him up, i don't want to have wcs am without alive

never liked aLive that much and Oz was my most hated player of all time his inconsistency allowed him to be a threat to some of the best yet remain pathetically bad at the same time

Three of my least favorite players, good move by EG seeing as they weren't marketable or particularly talented (for Koreans). The best result would be them making it into proleague squads so I can anti-team all 3 like last season.

Argh, sorry to see them go. This is really bad for EG's SC2 division. What's left? Incontrol, Jaedong, Machine, Suppy, Demuslim, JYP? Its a shame because Revival and Alive particularly posted some really good results in the past year, especially compared to their team mates.

EG keeps getting weaker and weaker. Strange how they at one point where the wildest powerhouse with ALL the fan favorites and now have 3-4. Oh well, more money saved for using on some other people. Hopefully they rest find af home (and that Alive won't retire)

Jaedong. That's it.
EG doesn't seem to want to get involve in many teamleagues nowaday after the abysmal showing in PL, and the only ones they've entered are the one that they are hosting.
And if you're not in a teamleague, there's no need for depth. Jaedong is strong, and as long as he is still making deep runs and has a huge fanbase, EG is happy.

Win premier tournament, get kicked off team. Good shit

Yeah, that's too bad, honestly I'm a little surprised JYP didn't get the axe in either Oz's or aLive's place... Well, best of luck to these three, perhaps EG will try and pick up Soulkey or some other high profile Korean in place of these three?

Taeja played pretty poorly in proleague outside of his 6-2 round 1. True but to be fair he played very little after that first round. When he did start feeling better with his wrists it seemed like coach park didn't trust him as much because he didn't practice in the team house.

Fuck sake.
For all their not 'personalities' I don't feel they really got the exposure that enabled it to come across. They could have streamed more perhaps, but argh. Apart from anything else, they had actual practice to do.
Hope they find new teams each and all
