When u have a player who qualified for blizzcon, u still keep some random, terrible player that not many people know about? Hopefully they go to a team that values their talent, and not their personality That was harsh by eg honestly, just throwing away peoples jobs even though u had a contract with them I wonder how jaedong is, hes the only korean on eg now. I guess it wont matter too much, since egtl house closed, but i recall him saying in an interview that oz and him were really good friends, so that must suck Best of luck to the three of them There is basically nothing true in this post...man... 1. Exposure, personality and visibility ARE obviously more important then skill. If you are extremley good, you dont need a personality, cause everyone cheers for (Soulkey). But if not, you have to give other value for the sponsors. Would you spend 500 bucks+falt and beyond to revival, even if you COULD afford it?? 2. Machine is another story. He has a worked out body wich is good for merchandise, is only part-time player, good friend this the guys in the teamhouse. He is, like InControl, not there to deliver results. He even plays warhammer 40K with Geoff =) 3. NOone throw away job!!! They had a 6 months contract and EG paid all the 6 months, although it was pretty clear for months that they were not participating in PL. Get your shit together man. 4. Jaedong is NOT the only Korean on EG

They're popular, and no matter how much better the Korean trio is, they aren't. Popularity sells, and EG needs to make money. Machine is probably well known in the NA-scene, plus he is the lowest payed player @EG (besides Xeno maybe). Cutting him would have no impact on the financial situation of EG, while cutting these three guys saves a bunch of cash. Im sure EG would have kept Alive, Oz and Revival if they would have been "satisfied" with a lower salary...

HerO was a fan favourite on play style alone almost straight out the bat, and has won a fair bit. Taeja is even less exposed in the way HerO is, his hallmark is how he CLAPS for god's sake :p. TL do not have the same personality/stream centric model EG. They have a list of criteria over and above pure skill or pure marketability though

The Korean scene needs more outlets for its playerbase, it needs a shot in the arm to attempt to invigorate that scene. Ideally, Proleague needs more love being an established prestigious competition it'd be ideal. If we're talking long-term for the overall scene from which EG feeds IMO it's a no-brainer unless the associated costs are MASSIVE

They would need more solid Koreans, a teamhouse in Korea and assorted functionaries and coaches. I'm really not sure EG is all that invested in the long term health of the scene, they are an Esports team, not an SC2 team. I'm pretty sure they'd dump SC2 like an old newspaper if the fans bailed on it.

Maybe machine gets better viewer numbers on his stream than Oz,alive, revival. Machine is not very good even in a NA only tournament he wouldn't be very good. But I have a feeling he is on his last leg with the team.

When EG-TL lost coach Park, their team house and decided not to pursue Proleague, I guess this was expected but it's still sad. Hope they find new teams and hope EG picks up some new players.
