Think the DT change looks cool. Like the idea of the Widow mine change. Was hoping for more neat changes rather than standard buffs/nerfs.

Mech ground and air attack upgrades combined - meh dunno, could give it a try. Maybe it would be a good thing, in conjunction with the siege tank buff. Not to sure about this one.

Widow mine splash radius decreased from 1.75 to 1.1 - So i feel this would definitely be a step in the right direction, but maybe 1.1 is to much. 1.3 or something would maybe be more reasonable, but again overall a step in the right direction for sure.

Siege tank attack period decreased from 3 to 2.7 - It's a good idea vs. zerg for sure, but against protoss i feel it's not enough. Imho i think we should try to go back to the flat 50 dmg tank (better vs. zealots).

Oracle cost decreased from 150/150 to 150/100 - stronger oracle cheese all in? no thanks imho.

Dark Templar movement speed increased from 2.813 to 3.375 - I feel this would be a huge mistake. Especially in endgame harass on maps like whirlwind. I already feel its quite potent vs. zerg and a to a certain degree also terran on big maps.

Roach speed upgrade also increases the burrowed roach movement speed from 1.41 to 2.25 - I am a bit worried about ZvP, with this upgrade. Don't know. Voted "no thumbs".

Overall I am thrilled Blizzard is aware of whats going on in the community and overall the changes seems to move HotS in an even better direction ^^

Let's review this patch in detail before laddering today

Completely destroy a core Terran unit to the point where it can be used anymore because Taeja won the latest tournament... check
Buff random protoss unit's speed because ̶b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶d̶o̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶h̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶e̶r̶s̶ ̶h̶a̶r̶d̶ ̶e̶n̶o̶u̶g̶h̶ fuck it make them move faster than stimmed units it's time for some terrible terrible damage... check
Change some shit related to armory upgrades... check
Do nothing about MSC and lolnexus (seriously 1 minute... seriously)... check
Buff some random zerg shit because you have to change something right?... check
Change bunker build time... fail

Overall Score: B+
looks like a solid patch by Blizzard standards

I like the idea of faster DT, but maybe only if combined with the charge upgrade at TC tech. Then, it would be similar to the old Zealot leg speed upgrade in BW which, iirc, made Zealots as fast as stimmed marines. That might be better. That, or get rid of the redundant Dark Shrine and fold DT into Templar Archives like they should be, with a speed upgrade at Archives.

Anyway, I think I'll play a few games on the test map tomorrow evening when I have some time.

Protoss needs a complete overhaul that increases its potential while increasing the difficulty of the mechanics. This patch will help bums like Elfi, Huk, and Naniwa much more than gosus like Rain.

No. Instead it makes oracles come out ever so slightly earlier in PvP while letting you make something like a sentry or a stalker before starting the oracle. It wont make the build time faster or the earliest you can hit but will make you have slightly more army or start WG while making the oracle.

I love the fact that widow mines are being nerfed because the splash is actually ridiculous, but I actually think that the siege tank just needs more flat damage like the ultralisk. As a mech player, I love the fact that tanks are so hard to micro, don't shoot as fast, and are more vulnerable without the support of other units like hellbats. I simply wish that they reward good tank micro and increasing the benefits by having more flat out damage. I remember in the early days of Wings of Liberty when tanks scared the shit out of everyone because they did 60 flat damage. With hardcounters such as the viper and the immortal, and softcounters such as the muta, broodlord, and void ray, I think Blizzard is definitely getting it right in buffing the tank, but in the wrong way. I would love to see mech again in high level tvz and possibly tvp if I pray enough. I think they key to buffing mech isn't to compensate its weaknesses like mobility and cost, but to buff its strengths like its raw damage.

David Kim feels Symbol doesn't need a GSL win in the near future. A roach buff or a nydus buff, he can't lobby for both.

I really don't think a slight buff in the attack speed of the tank will make up for the laughable reduction in attack radius of widow mines. I also don't think there's a meme or expression in existence that can encapsulate the logical cluterfuck that led them down the road of a DT speed buff. I'd wish they just stick with what they know and change the bunker if they want to troll. Been a while since there was a good bunker patch.
