While Samsung Electronics has acquired Team MVP's two League of Legends teams and their head coach Choi Yoon Sang, Team MVP appears to be set to keep running as normal with its SC2 and Dota2 teams.
Replacing Mr. Choi is new head coach Lim Hyeon Seok, who previously coached MVP Ozone to a championship in OnGameNet's Champions Tournament. MVP is said to have already have a budget ready for operations in 2014.
Although Team MVP does not plan to make a new LoL team, they said they are interested in expanding to new games outside SC2 and Dota2.

becose dota2 will kick ass eventualy . and they made one of the best LoL team in the world , after all the work they put into it i dont think they wanna start from 0 all over again .

Lol, you did not read at all, MVP ozone and MVP Blue were acquired by Samsung. No longer on MVP. Also they already are recruiting a DotA 2 team, they are recruiting something different not Dota 2 or SC2

did they need to sell their LoL team otherwise players would have split looking for a paid contract with a KESPA team?
The business sense is the owner of the team had a strong asset(MVP Ozone), the owner of the team used that asset to get himself a job with Samsung as well as a 300k-500k transfer fee(we don't know where this went).
For the rest of the team? It's probably a loss, unless they're getting a chunk of that LoL money as a gift from their ex-owner.

i agree, it seems strange that they would sell their LoL team to expand to other games when LoL is really big and still on the rise in popularity

I counter your bias with my pure conjecture
DotA 2 public release is too late to counter the growth & popularity of LoL in South Korea
LoL will remain the top dog MOBA in South Korea as long as Riot does not go out of business
While I was disappointed to see MVP not get picked up by Samsung, it looks as if the MVP/Samsung teams were sort of absorbed into the Khan branding/team, and Khan already has an SC2 team. Still too bad we couldn't see MVP.Samsung.DRG or whatever.

thats what they said about brood war aswel . bw is too big in kr . games dont last forever . you will see
I thought they were bought by Samsung as well? Samsung now has two eSports teams: Samsung Khan and Samsung Galaxy. (cheesy and obvious name but whatever)

You have to have signs that the game is on decline though. BW was on decline long before it went out. Dota2 isn't even officially released in Korea yet, let alone getting big.

I believe the dancing coach got cut by Samsung. Maybe he wasn't up to their standards or whatever, no idea... really sad of course. However we can't even quantify how much he did behind the scenes and how much Choi actually did, who got acquired by Samsung. :-I

It would be (a LoL team specifically, not a moba/arts team in general), but it's almost impossible to build up or acquire a team now that could actually be good enough to participate there. From an organization standpoint I think this is a smart move to just kind of throw the towel on that front for now, and instead put some eggs into other baskets.

Actually, they renamed Samsung Khan to Samsung Galaxy for SC2 as well. So there is only 1 team : Samsung Galaxy.
As for the LoL squads
MVP Ozone will be named Samsung Galaxy Ozone for S3 Global Finals. After that, I assume both squads (Ozone and Blue) will be renamed Samsung Galaxy XXXXXX.

SCBW has bad graphic for this age and it's owner created sequel. LoL won't have any of these problems

can´t do anything against the power of money. When a big company like samsung comes around, luring your biggest and most successful squad with a big salary that you can´t provide, you can´t do anything but take as much profit out of it as possible.

Fighting games I suppose, and in a perfect world Quake too.
This is Korea we are talking about. I don't see anything else possible than WoT or make another LoL team. But like some peole said, recruiting Infiltration would be a smart move, although i doubt they have any idea who this guy is.
Too bad MVP didn't get merged with Samsung. Though they said they got good news for them and it will be revealed soon apparently.
Everyone was so excited when it seemed like (from the article) Samsung merged with MVP and they apparently became Samsung Galaxy Khan. It's too bad it wasn't true .
Wonder how much of an investment it would have been to just take the SC2 team with them too?
As for expanding to new games?
Hearthstone which is being mentioned a few times already seems plausible. If Blizzard actually invests into competitive playing with Hearthstone (and maybe offers SC2 teams to create a team for the card game) it could actually work really well.
Hearthstone is getting good press so far (though MTG art will always be hawter >.>).

While Infiltration is 1 of the strongest Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2013 player atm, getting pretty much top 4 in any tournament he enters. Korea atm has no real interest in SSF4 as seen by the scene which is pretty much Infiltration, Laugh and the CafeID people. So yea, it will be a nice pickup if Korea ever goes fully into SSF4.
I'd love MVP to acquire a Tekken Tag 2 or other fighting games team. but in reality, AWoT and LoL seems to be the most reasonable choices (though I don't like them one bit)

Wait, so a LoL coach replaces the SC2 coach ? Strange but oh we'll see...
Player management is a pretty universal skill and he might know quite a bit about SC2. If I were a coach in Korea, I would try to have a broad level of knowledge when it comes to games and focus on getting the most out of players, rather than doubling down on one game.

I doubt it will ever happen. Infiltration, Laugh and Poongko are basically the only 3 Korean players worth mentioning for international competition. Cafeid is just a single place in Seoul. They just benefit from the proximity to Japan so they get pretty good online training if they want. ( but if you're into fighting games, you know online isn't enough )
