I counter your bias with my pure conjecture
DotA 2 public release is too late to counter the growth & popularity of LoL in South Korea
LoL will remain the top dog MOBA in South Korea as long as Riot does not go out of business

new games? World of Tanks of course its huge in korea

Are they still friend though?

While I was disappointed to see MVP not get picked up by Samsung, it looks as if the MVP/Samsung teams were sort of absorbed into the Khan branding/team, and Khan already has an SC2 team. Still too bad we couldn't see MVP.Samsung.DRG or whatever.

the last time we had someone affiliated with a team say they were fine was STX Soul on the stage at the proleague final. that didn't quite work out.
so basically I'm asking if this "we'll be fine" is Korean for "peace out, bros"

I thought they were bought by Samsung as well? Samsung now has two eSports teams: Samsung Khan and Samsung Galaxy. (cheesy and obvious name but whatever)

Is this an appropriate thread to start a "D - R - G! D - R - G!" slow chant?

BW was on decline long before it went out. Dota2 isn't even officially released in Korea yet, let alone getting big.

Samsung gave them a bunch of money, they will last couple of years even if they don't find any sponsors.

No Moba team ? Isn't it mandatory to have one if MVP wants to participate to the next KeSPA's ProLeague

I believe the dancing coach got cut by Samsung. Maybe he wasn't up to their standards or whatever, no idea... really sad of course. However we can't even quantify how much he did behind the scenes and how much Choi actually did, who got acquired by Samsung. :-I

It would be (a LoL team specifically, not a moba/arts team in general), but it's almost impossible to build up or acquire a team now that could actually be good enough to participate there. From an organization standpoint I think this is a smart move to just kind of throw the towel on that front for now, and instead put some eggs into other baskets.

Actually, they renamed Samsung Khan to Samsung Galaxy for SC2 as well. So there is only 1 team : Samsung Galaxy.
As for the LoL squads
MVP Ozone will be named Samsung Galaxy Ozone for S3 Global Finals. After that, I assume both squads (Ozone and Blue) will be renamed Samsung Galaxy XXXXXX.

Sad for Mr. Choi, he seemed like he genuinely cared about his boys

LoL won't have any of these problems
