This week there was apparently a fire where they had intended to hold the WCS AM Round of 16 matches, so things have been changed and they are now doing it from NASL studios. This is all taken from the NASL news update.
In light of a devastating fire yesterday at the venue for the WCS America Season 2 Premier League Ro16, the North American Star League is moving the competition taking place in six days to the NASL Studio. Yesterday, a kitchen fire broke out at Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica, California ( full story). As a result of this fire, the venue is now closed indefinitely until repairs are completed. Upon learning of this news, NASL began working on a solution to ensure the Ro16 continues as scheduled and that player travel and schedules are not affected. Thanks to a recent expansion at the NASL Studio, the players will have a new competition area where a select audience will be able to watch. A secondary viewing room will also be available. However, as in-studio audience space will be limited, admission will be granted on an invitation-only basis. An update regarding how to claim a wristband for the WCS America Season 2 Finals at the Red Bull Studio will be posted soon. Fans still wishing to watch the action with their friends are encouraged to check the NASL Facebook page regularly for updates. For more information about the WCS and a full Season 2 schedule, please visit the new WCS website at http://www.StarCraft2.com/WCS. - See more at: http://nasl.tv/News/Article/20130730wcs-america-ro16-venue-update
Hopefully things still go well, I feel bad thinking this is all kind of amusing but it sucks for a lot of the people involved.

Ouch, I hope this improvisation ends up working out nicely.
|
Nevertheless, I think NASL will manage to pull off a great event.

They need to get Idra to be a bartender and WCS AM will be saved.

First Meltdown Paris, now this. That sucks.

Things just don't work out for WCS AM, ever

On the upside, we're back at the NASL studios! Just like Seasons 3 & 4 of the NASL, baby #welcomehome
Ft. everyone's favorite esports dog, Chance! (well, not including Barristan the Bold)

shouldn't the title include AM?
|
Just let the NASL sound-guy come in. I'm sure it will be the best event 2013 has seen yet.

Good call.

Bummer, hopefully it all works out.

Why not just sell tickets like ESL instead of having it on an invitation basis?

Idk maybe they still wanna keep it free, what i wonder is how is the invitation gonna go? like is it gonna be to community figures and players only? or will it be like an application and they will select the people that get to go in.
Also with the poster who said that they need Idra to be bartender and WCS AM will be save. I second this. I would actually pay to see Idra be there doing this lol

If there aren't many seats then selling at market price may be expensive enough to cause community backlash (I'm sure they can find enough people willing to go for $100, but the community complains when things cost even $5). And to sell them at less than market price will mean some unlucky people won't be able to get seats even though they wanted to pay, which would cause community backlash.

damn, i was looking forward to watching the action at yankee doodles. i wish i could get an invitation...it hardly seems worth going and watching live if you're not even in the same room as the players. also if i recall correctly, NASL is in rancho cucomonga which is way less convenient than santa monica, for me at least. oh well. at least nobody was hurt in the fire

The LoL players that dislike SC2 are out there ruining our venues. Burn them all.

Damn you League!!! League of Legend saboteurs *insert fry squint* jks ... hopefully the NASL studios will be able to hold everyone and keep everyone comfortable

First drink is called the IdrA-GG. He gives you an empty glass and walks off.

gah... isn't their studio in rancho?
|
totally sucks. I was looking forward to the barcraft atmosphere.

I saw someone posting an idea of moving the venue to busby's west (which can accommodate more people as well)...

ESL ticket costs 7 €, softdrinks and energydrinks are free so much you want.

Wait Ro16 was to be held in a restaurant? :o

dont worry guys NASL has super heroes like frodan <3 gretorp mrbitter and rotterdam

I wanted to go to this, but Rancho Cucamonga is way too far for me to make it. I hope CableSC manages to get an alternate local venue for a last minute BarCraft.
