I can only speak for myself but Im really not into this tabloid mentality. Plus as a gent above stated, EG are much more than just an SC2 team, so how about we all show some respect for their other members of staff. Although we're all Starcraft fans, their LOL team & DOTA teams don't deserve this BS IMO, so let Reddit be Reddit.
You say your an EG fan so I hope you agree. Plus this playground gossip mentality might mean that they re-evaluate many existing sponsorships across the whole e-sports spectrum. After all it could have been agreed 3-6 months ago and simply they've decided to let this contract run its course.
FYI im a Liquid fan thats becoming worn down by every nerd that seemingly wants to work for TMZ and thinks this is exciting. Apologies in advance if i'm in the minority and no offence to the guy that wrote the OP. Sponsors will change teams and the terms of their contracts often. We want to be like real mainstream sports? Well then, this is what happens in established larger sports.
Sorry for the rant i'm at the end of long day/night out. Stop apologising, you are right in the most part, sadly.

Typo with the first "DONOT", obviously fake..
|
Also just took a look a few of the OPs post, some of which have Idra hate, so it certainly doesn't seem out of the question that OP emailed Intel, and I can think of 2 reasons:
1. An attempt to give EG some props for booting Idra 2. Questioning how recent events with Idra could jeprodize sponsorships
Neither are good reasons to email, but I would say I've seen enough to believe OP would actually send it.

This has nothing at all to do with recent drama or people contacting sponsors etc.
As other have said it was Intel Extreme Boards which hasn't been around for a while, you can't be "sponsored" by a company that doesn't exist anymore.
|
Even if this isn't fake, just wait for an EG announcement instead of speculating nonsense. If we never hear about this again, well... that would say it all, wouldn't it?
|
What in the world is this crap, can this please be closed. I can hear the rumor water, powering the rumor mill, to crush that rumor corn.

It's also possible that the inquiry email was sent before IdrA was fired (maybe something along the lines of "Hey, I really like your products, but there's this guy stirring up trouble and I'm concerned it will affect your sponsorship in eSports...") and just received a reply. Hard to really guess the reasons assuming it isn't fake in the first place.

Prob because they lost IdrA and now Stephano is leaving. It'd be funny if it sponsored IdrA : D + Show Spoiler +

Can we please stop posting misleading and sensationalist bullshit for the sake of feeding the drama llamas?

But, a boring non-story that's been solved. Thanks.

I would normally agree with you and all, but when have you ever seen a team or sponsor announce a team departure? It very rarely happens. EG & MSi, coL & GammaGamers, the list goes on and on...so speculation is kind of often the only option in circumstances like these.
P.S. I am not speaking on the actual content and whether it's real/fake, as it doesn't really matter either way...just wanted to comment on your rant. Normally, something like this is justified..but speculation on topics like these are all we have because a PR is very rarely, if ever..released.

Thanks - I doubt you are in the minority. I do get really tired of the gossip/TMZ style of reddit and forums. Rash speculation doesn't do anyone any good.

The first phrase that comes to mind is "this is pretty pathetic". I can't even think of anything else to say...

That's the worst attempt at faking an email I'v ever seen. You really think a prestigious company would put typos in their emails?
|
I haven't seen a troll post that was this serious yet. Unfortunately this takes the cake
