I do hope this is not true.

Though when Intel announced a few months ago that they would be dropping their Intel Extreme brand entirely I was afraid that they may reduce sponsorship in esports. IEM etc.

Why would they respond to feedback/comments with "we no longer support them"? There would be a press release of some kind with a sponsorship this big.

Also, what feedback did you give them that couldve warranted such a reply?

Looks like fake to be honest. As far I know EG never was sponsored by Intel but by Intel Extreme Boards so the mail doesn't make sense even if it was true.

You should read the point Aike made above. I'm going to wager that's a lot of the reason. I'm not trying to be sensationalist and say "ZOMG IdrA GOT DEM DROPPED". Just passing on what I received today because it's interesting.

I believe verification will take place behind closed doors. Given the OP's low post count that seems like the logical course of action.
