GL HF for the next Stephano , you sold dream to us

With the money he'll have , he could pay himself a really good US medical education. The French medical education process is controversial, significantly more unpleasant and the opportunities are very different.
This is your opinion, i'm in my 3th years of medicine and we talk about american education, they don't have "numerus closus" so we saw "everyone with the money (and a good work method ofc i don't say everyone can do it) can be doctor or something in medical job."
But it's not the topic.
GL in real life stephano !

I don't care how annoying widow mines are, it isn't even close to as annoying as sitting in a library 6 hours a day reading the most boring sh*t you can imagine.
he just needs to be reminded again, that's all
This. I give it 3 months before he returns. He will remember how awesome his life was when he was playing sc2.

Doubt it. Now I don't know Stephano as a person, but from interviews and all the information that was published about him he doesn't seem like one who would chant 'espots' and stuff like that. He is probably just a guy that enjoys playing games every now and then and it just happened that he was really good at Starcraft and he could make lots of money playing the game. He never seemed to be interested in a 'real' carrier in esports though. He might still play casually, but I doubt he will go to offline events or something like that.
Also, to some people playing Starcraft 6 hours a day is as boring as reading books 6 hours a day for others.

Agreed, when I was a kid I thought there would be no sweeter job than been paid to play video games all day. Recently I tried to play a whole days worth of Starcraft, partly to boost my ladder rank and also to try and get a little insight into what some pros do every day. Turns out I couldn't handle more than 3 hours. It was just as boring as work is sometimes, and at work I'm surrounded by colleagues if I ever do get bored. When you’re stuck at home with nothing but a twitch chat full of trolls for company I bet it wares you down.
He was actually talking about leaving for med school long ago but I guess he put it on hold when he realised just how good he was at SC2 (think it was just after he won IPL3). Even now he's still got at least $2000 guaranteed from WCS EU and if he ever needs Friday night money he can always just win $50-$100 on some weekly cup or something. He’s also guaranteed to get around 8000 stream views which’ll earn him roughly $130-$150 for three hours of streaming (obviously that’s short term, the longer he’s retired the more viewers he’ll lose). On the flip side, I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't change his mind nearer the time or some time after August. When it comes to Stephano he's very free-flowing with his idealisms.

except the fact that theres more to life than starcraft, If you have a hobby or something you really wanna do, it WILL be fun.
If stephano is certain about going to some medical school,he will LOVE sitting 6 hours a day studying for it. its called determination.

If stephano is certain about going to some medical school,he will LOVE sitting 6 hours a day studying for it. its called determination. lol, going a little off-topic here, but yesterday I was at an assessment centre for an accounting firm with 14 other applicants. The vast majority of them were scientific grads, bio-chemistry, physics, marine biology that sort of thing, the rest were grads in a sociology field (history, art, psychology). It’s very common in the UK for accounting firms to take grads with completely irrelevant degrees (provided they made the grade). While we were waiting for a group exercise to start the topic came up about why I had chosen my degree, since ironically I was the only applicant in the room who had done a finance degree. I responded by asking them didn’t they ever want to go into a field relevant to their degree? The answer I got was about 80% of applied science graduates don’t pursue a career relevant to their degree after graduating. I think the guys exact words were, “we all went in wanting to do nothing else, and they (the lecturers/learning system) spent 3 whole years beating all the enthusiasm out of us”
I’m sure he truly is determined to pursue whatever it is he wants to do (some people are saying med school, others are saying maths degree), but I don’t know anyone who loves living in a library stressing there mind out about up-coming examinations. When you are hunched over a library booth surrounded by journals, periodicals and text books it’s not uncommon to think “this is never what I wanted to do”.

I think it's a great decision. He was undoubtedly a great player, but you can only be a pro-gamer for so long and you can be a doctor for much longer. GL in your future endeavors!

I guess it was eventually going to happen given Stephano's consistent talking about returning to school. I hope he does well in school but I hope he stays connected to the community somehow.

Stephano will remain strong in every real sc2 fans hearts!

EG will now have the money to pick up nani ^^

It's a wise decision. If I was a progamer I would be cutting my losses now. Even if I was making a decent salary, because what I'd be losing then is future income potential by not starting a real career. Sorry, but it's true. Especially for low-tier pros. Their odds of making a living are vanishingly small.
