If he's really not enjoying his time then he should just stop taking tournament spots from people that are passionate about the game. Because he's contracted until then. It isn't really his choice.

Stephano was actually playing SC2 around this time as well yet nobody knew him. I only named those three because not only were they competing back then and now, but also they were the best of their era. All those players you listed are indeed competing now but they were nowhere near the best during the early part of SC2. MVP, NesTea, and MC have been around the top or considered top players since that time AND now. I literally picked GSL participants, do you really want to argue that those players weren't any good back then?

Careful now. People will think you're serious.:p With Idra and Stephano gone, EG would have the kind of money (if they didn't have enough already) to pick up a heavy hitter like Naniwa or maybe another big Korean. EGFlashRC anyone?

That beeing said, sponsors care more about beeing visible rather than having a winning team. There are a lot of great players out there but in sc2 things shift so fast that its impossible to know who will be doing great 6 months from now.

You mean to say he has made more money per month while at his prime than he could earn on average per month with an education. I've been working with a college degree for about six years now and I've earned more money than Stephano has in his entire SC2 career. Unless you think he's going to be pulling down top-tier tournament wins into his 40s, stopping while he's on top is a very intelligent move.

If I were him, I'd at least try to make both work before giving up completely. that'd require being less of a drama queen ![]() On May 16 2013 22:27 AmericanUmlaut wrote: You mean to say he has made more money per month while at his prime than he could earn on average per month with an education. It's not like he's a 8-12 hours a day korean cyborg practicing monster. He does play a considerable amount, but he is at a 6 times better ratio than you and he has travelled all over the world and has the funds to go anywhere he wants at probably any time. I'd take the gaming career, you act like sc2 is going anywhere but up.
