Considering the fact that he is not without a doubt the best foreigner, and in fact Nani had put up significantly better results in HotS than he was, I don't get that first statement. Though the second part of your statement I wholly agree with, I wish people were paying more attention to him, and yes his adventure + personality was great to see.

Stephano made clear that he WILL retire and go to medical school at least a year ago. I read it so many times and I'm not even a Stephano fan. How did people miss that? "It is all about money" is a stupid statement. In the end, yes it is. Progamer is a job just like any other job. It just happens that most progamers enjoy their job more than a lot of other people. I don't see any problem. Good luck to Stephano.

Taeja, Polt, Maru, Losira, Byun, Genius, Zenio, San, Leenock, Jjakji, Sound, Inca, sC, Vines, Golden, Squirtle, Gumiho, Alive are just some of the people that were playing in the GSL open seasons in 2010. edit: extending this to the first two GSL seasons of 2011, in which Jinro had a Ro4 and a Ro16, we get some more players: Killer, Ace, Top, Line, YuGiOh, MMA, Coca, Noblesse, Curious, Alicia, Losira, Supernova, Ganzi, Revival, and this is not counting players like Nada, Boxer, July. But were they top players at the time as they are now? (2010 to early 2011) They weren't. Stephano was actually playing SC2 around this time as well yet nobody knew him. I only named those three because not only were they competing back then and now, but also they were the best of their era. All those players you listed are indeed competing now but they were nowhere near the best during the early part of SC2. MVP, NesTea, and MC have been around the top or considered top players since that time AND now.

You need to judge the way you quantify things my friend. Stephano is without doubt the most accomplished Foreigner in terms of first place results in premier tournaments. FUCKING FACT. Anyway good luck in your studies Stephano!

NaNiwa placed 2nd at one tournament. That doesn't automatically make him the top foreigner. *Facepalm* Plus he said Stephano WAS/IS the best foreigner. Obviously him being the best foreigner is up to your opinion but there is NO doubt that he WAS the best. 4th most all time in prize money $210,000+. Improve your reading skills. *Another Facepalm*

If you watch the actual stream where he announced his departure here(3h26min), Thud asks him about the rumor of medicine studies and he clearly state that no, he will not study medicine but something with maths and physics, he is not sure yet. Maybe engineering.

that is not how the real world works though. You can't just stay out of school forever and expect that a medical school will accept you. It's not something that is all too common.

It's not something that is all too common. Someone French mentioned somewhere in the thread that it's not medical or biology anymore, instead apparently physics and/or engineering.
