He made a great deal of money it'll set him up great to finish his schooling. The only question i'd wonder is if he plans to completly 100% step away from gaming (publicly), or just from the pro scene. I'm sure he'd probably still have quite a fan base even only playing on a part time basis more for fun then for cash and prizes. IE he could still probably keep some regular income streaming and playing even on a pat time basis.

I don't care how annoying widow mines are, it isn't even close to as annoying as sitting in a library 6 hours a day reading the most boring sh*t you can imagine. he just needs to be reminded again, that's all

There are no college athletes that are also in the school’s medical program for good reason. And if French schools require a “Residency” in a hospital, he likely won’t have time to sleep. There is actually enough time during the first 2 years... 3rd year would be when someone would have no time for gaming everyday.

Anyways, i'm sad to see him go; he was one of the VERY few zerg players i rooted for. people like drama. think back to the random destiny threads, they were all huge.

College athletes begin their NCAA scholarships at 18 shortly after completing high school. They have 5 years of eligibility. There is the odd exception to this, but it is rare. Almost no 18 year olds are in Medical School in North America. Very few 21 year olds are in Medical School in NA. By the time a North American college or university student is accepted into medical school his years of NCAA eligibility are done. This applies to law school, optometry school and any number of other professional schools that require extensive undergrad studies before accepting you..... there is nothing special about "medical school" in this regard. Rules like the recently rescinded 14.2.3.5 made virtually impossible to compete in an NCAA sport while pursuing any kind of post-grad studies... not just "medical school".

Don't talk about what you don't know. Stephano has an highschool diploma, but he is not part of a "medical school". In fact, there's no such thing as a medical school in France. There's a Faculty of medicine, which is open to anyone with a highschool diploma. The selection is the 1st year exams that you can try 2 times and where only the first N ranks succeed <=> usually ~15% success rate.

Also he was very unconfident going in another progaming year, and thought a lot before doing so, and I think he regrets his choice (because he obviously did not have the success he expected in 2012/2013...) Also he will not pursuit a medical degree, because medical studies in France are not the kind of studies you can complete after a 2 years break (enormous amount of work needed, and it's very competitive, you've to fight against other students for the spots...) He will go to the university I think, he's not sure yet.

Ontopic: a bit sad that he's quitting, I always enjoyed his play and his antics, but completely understandable... and he always said he wasn't in it for the long haul.

I hope we still see him appear in small tournaments from time to times. I see many people coming out of medecine from France to Belgium because they failed medecine there. From what i've been told they're treated worse than trash and many take drugs to perform better. Good luck if he chooses that path :/

Idra getting released is something a lot of people probably never saw coming even after what he said. I mean Idra himself didn't even know what he said was that bad till the day he even got released.
