No results at all in a long time, always bad attitude - i have been thinking for a loooong time "Who the hell want's to pay a guy like that?". This is business, if you can't deliver, you don't belong.
Next stop Incontrol.... Out with him, get some real talent. Or pay him only for the commentating, which i will give him a thumps up for!
And yes, i will properly be hated for this, but hey, it is what it is.
come on, hating on incontrol is so old now... incontrol is doing an amazing job for EG also: + Show Spoiler + Oh wow, did not realize that my TL virginity was just taken. Thumps up to you! I don't hate on Incontrol, i love the guy, amazing eSport figure, with his personality, humor and all that. But as a player... That's a chapter that should be over already, please move on to something else and do it as a hoppy. Ehm incontrol is definately an asset to EG. One of the most awesome guys in the scene in my opinion. Him, qxc, grubby and a few others are really nice people for the most part (my impression). Some are not as great personalitywise but are decent/good and a few have pretty shitty attitudes but are great at the game. Idra isnt really in either of these categories imo so I guess that makes him special in some sense All the people you just mentioned are terrible players and never get any results. Incontrol is bad at the game but is apparently a great personality. Qxc is a godawful terran but apparently has a great personality. Grubby, a far cry from his BM + Right Click days is a terrible player but everyone loves him because he has a great personality. eSports isn't taken seriously (and never will be) outside of TL and Korea. If you want it to be taken seriously, you need to be supporting players who consistently achieve high level results and bring home the prize money. Paying money for casters and 'great personalities' is just silly and is ultimately bad business. Yeah I'm sure it's the community's appreciation for personalities that's holding esports back from being mainstream. It's not like those potential mainstream viewers have no idea what the community likes lol.
It IS a little bizarre though, don't you think?

What's the deal between Idra and Demuslim? What caused this animosity?

They don't like each other. That's about it really. Plus they get a kick out of winding each other up.

Now take that, add the SC2 ladder, popularity as professional players and a public stream. And a kitten, because everyone loves cats.

They have conflicting personalities. One is passionate about the game and his fans, is all around well mannered and a nice guy even when losing.
The other is British :/

Love him or hate him, IdrA did a very good job at promoting SC2, wheter intentionally or not, in first stages of Wings of Liberty. His bad attitude, manners and heel aura created stories. To this day I remember his finals vs. TLO or WhiteRa, his rage outbursts against Drewbie or Masq, or abruptly ended games against HuK or MMA.
At first I was taking his opinions as a voice of reason, I truly believed he was smart and knowledgable enough to speak about game balance in objective manner, it seemed his rage was induced by game imbalances.
In my opinion his downward spiral really started at the moment when zergs started to dominate after queen and infestor buff. His moans about imbalance were pathetic at best, especially when all around zergs were winning and dominating. No longer people were seeing him as knowledgable, passionate player, who is stopped from winning only by bad game design; they saw his true face - face of whiny, assuming, raging dude, who is too stubborn to learn on his own mistakes.
When he played his best he was ideal bad boy of SC2, after queenpatch he became caricature of his former self.

I'd say it makes sense given 1) the volatility of SC2 and 2) the scene's oversaturation of players. When you combine those two things it means pretty much no one is consistently making it to the last stages of tournaments. Skill loses its value in the scene when you can pretty much the top 32 players' names in any given tournament in a hat and randomly pick the winner, and you'd get about the same level of consistency as what actually exists. So viewers turn to personality to find something meaningful.

This discussion is beyond stilly. How is Grubby a terrible player? He did very well at the recent Dream Hack, making it through groups to the round of 16(from memory and I can’t check liquipida). What are peoples standards for good today? Win everything? TLO did poorly for over a year, but is now ripping through WSC. How does he rate on this scale? Terrible, yet lucky?
And all-killing IM is a feat. Claim it is luck, but that is a lot of luck that most Korean teams can’t generate.
I just don’t know why people entertain these discussions claiming really solid players are “terrible” because they don’t win everything.

You might wanna drop the attitude or you'll find yourself kicked from TL with a roundhouse punch.

Honestly I was just wondering why the sc2 community is so fixated on personalities rather than actual gameplay. I didn't think someone would go down the whole "sc2 is too volatile" route.
