For fuck's sake, why does every other post claim to speak for entire communities, rather than being prefaced with a 'to me' or 'in my opinion' because that is all you're giving.

Real sports and e-sports fans don't give two shits about personality. We only care about good games. Why do you care so much about Idra then? His last good games are long past. Rejoice that EG has the opportunity now to invest into someone who can deliver good games. Every SC2 fan profits (except those interested in Idra's personality, which, according to you, you are not).

Because every post is someones opinion, and explicitly stating such is highly redundant.

His point is that people keep telling others what they feel (or should be feeling) as "real fans" and fans of esports. There's a clear semantic difference between people stating their opinion and people using big groups of people as a basis for their opinion when they in reality have no ground to do so.

Unless someone commits a heinous crime (murder, rape, etc) I could honestly give two shits about their past or popularity as long as that player can perform. Agree completely with what this guy said. We play and watch the game. We should just do that. I feel like this community now cares more about drama than the game itself. If Idra were still a great gamer, I would watch his games. Now he sucks and just trash talks so I stop watching. It is simple as that.

so far gamers are just a bunch of boring nerds nobody pays attention to. If we can show the world we are more than that. and that we can actually entertain the masses with the drama and rage, then we could make it to national TV shows and compete with the top sport industries of America.

Manly decision would be quit proplaying by himself if he didn't like it

Given that they've criticized each other in the past (and the community has invented some drama where none existed too, for good measure!) this should be interesting - Idra did a really good job casting with Jason Lee, who was far more of a Starcraft novice than TB is, in one of the early GSLs, so I reckon this could work fairly well, at least on the part of the casters. How the community reacts is a different matter, given how both personalities seem to provoke a fairly toxic reaction among some vocal Starcraft fans. We'll see! Link:

You do realize that Idra could get his head straight and come back to competition a year from now, right? This isn’t the be all end all. Fans and the community(as a whole, of course there will be haters) alike wouldn’t have much of problem. His fans are still his fans. You keep bringing up examples from professional sports attempting to claim there is some injustice as to what happen, but that is not what took place. Idra didn't enjoy competing at this point in his career, but the money he was offered from EG was to good to pass up. Idra said he also didn't sign with EG again this year. They released him, but he didn't really want to be their anyways. In general, it is not a good idea to employee people who are not happen with their job, regardless of how skill/talented they are.

TB and Idra love to speak their minds and they both like each other, regardless of what some of the drama queens say.
