In today's GSL U&D (Group E) tiebreaker match between Bbyong and Sniper something happened that can only be described as an epic fail.
This thread is for fails like this. Moments in which progamers do really bad stuff. Not the average "he ran 8 Zerglings into a Baneling" thing but extreme micro/macro mistakes or inexplicable ingame decisions or extremely bad luck. I remember Jaedong (in BW) once blocking over 50 (!) supply worth of units inside his main base with a Drone who got stuck on a ramp for over 10 minutes without noticing it. This kind of stuff.
I know that every progamer plays a million times better than me so this thread is not meant condescending. It is also not meant scornful but should rather be seen as a tribute to their skill because if a mediocre player fails no one would care.
Here is what happened in said game: In the first round of the tiebreakers of group E Bbyong played an awesome game against Sniper. After a failed 2-rax he went into 7 Orbitals on 3 bases and then 5 bases and then destroyed Sniper's late game Broodlord Infestor Corrupter combination with his great economy and a giant fleet of vikings (and pretty nice Viking control). It helped that he managed to keep the number of Vikings he made hidden but it was still quite impressive. Then in the next round of the tiebreakers they met again. After another wild game (this time it was Bbyong who gave away a big lead) they were again in the late game. Once again he managed to get up a lot of CCs and an insane Viking count and he seemed in a solid position. And then it happened: For unknown reasons Bbyong decided to take all of his Vikings (25+), fly them accross the map, land them inside Sniper's main base and fight with them for at least half a minute. They OBVIOUSLY got fungaled when the Infestors came back. But Bbyong didn't seem to care. He just kept fighting even with those Vikings who were not fungaled. So they all got killed by a couple of Zerglings, Queens and Roaches. Sniper then just flew his Broodlord army inside of Bbyong's bases, Bbyong had nothing to fight them and Sniper won the game.
Idra vs Huk (the hallucinated army incident) Idra vs MMA (This was kind of both progamers making huge mistakes, MMA killing his own CC, and Idra playing with the mentality that he was behind)
There was that time when MKP nuked his own army against Drewbie at MLG Orlando. MKP ended up losing the series to Drewbie.
There was that time when Naniwa decided to worker rush in the Blizzard Cup.
There was that time in GSL (early 2011) when San blocked his own Nexus during a FFE.
During the GSTL finals at IPL 4, Bomber and MKP faced off in a TvT. Bomber held off MKP's siege timing, and dropped manner mules thinking that he had won. He didn't, and MKP ended up beating him and 4 killing Startale to give Prime the GSTL title.

Just to throw this out here, Jaedong pretty much won the very moment he freed all those Hydras. Not sure if that qualifies as epic fail or just laughable :p
Huk cancelling warpgate at 90% against Leenock in MLG, and then use a guardian shield instead of a forcefield. He loses that game in 5 seconds, it was a really sad fail.
There was some weird ZvZ on Steppes of War in one of the open seasons (?) where some player just put a proxy hatch in one of the most random locations, did some more stupid shit and then gg'd. I have never seen anything worse.

Do you have the VOD? I keep on hearing about this game, but never seen it yet.
It's on gomtv, but you will have to pay for it. Set 4, game 1: http://www.gomtv.net/2012gsls5/vod/70985 (ever since they changed the layout you can't just like to a particular game instead of the series, sad)

Jaedong's drone block game was hilarious because he was holding off the Protoss' attacks without those hydras, but once the floodgates opened, he rolled over him.

MMA actually targeted his own CC, it wasn't splash. I watched the replay to see what he was doing while that was happening...AND HE WAS STARING AT HIS CC GET SHOT BY TANKS THE ENTIRE TIME.
Flash vs Ryung in the latest season of code A - in game 2 (I think) Flash flew 3 full medivacs into a pair of turrets, reached the drop point, and then his medivacs just hovered there without unloading and they all got shot down. He still won though lol.
I remember a game, I think Nerchio vs someone, where the guy builds 3 infestor buildings while wanting to actually build a Ultralist cavern and proceeds to lose the game terribly :D
HuK vs NesTea on Tal'Darim Altar. NesTea lost a ton of mutas due to inattentiveness. He also tried to manner baneling suicide HuK's 3rd base (arguable whether it was manner), and he lost a ton of broodlords by not protecting them properly. Artosis said that he was "breaking rules he (NesTea) invented!"
Just found the vod: November 2011 GSL code S, group A, ro16, set 4.
Nestea vs Sparta on Whirlwind where he keeps building ultralisk caverns and making terrible attacks
Nestea vs Fantasy last up and down matches (not the ones that just happened) where he flies unprotected brood lords out onto the map and loses all of them instantly losing the game

NesTea vs anyone when it goes to the lategame, just like Blizzcon
In fact, Ret has the same issues, they just can't control lategame armies at all.
Still think this Ret vs Fuzer game was incredibly funny.
Ive seen a couple of games where pros waste ~30 banes on destructible rocks. Also that game in the GSL recently where someone miscalculated how many banes it would take to kill a PF, saked loads of banes and left it getting repaired from 20HP. Ill try and dig up some vids now.

mma didnt kill his cc with splash, he actually accidentally targeted it instead of the rocks i think.
TLO was able to hold an ling allin of Symbol in the last game of a bo5. But for some reason he moved his queen so zerglings could runby and kill everything.

only took 2 posts apart from the OP to mention Idra.
God....I remember Idra vs a terran player, I forget who it was but it was on shakuras plateau in a MLG. Idra had about 25-30 mutalisks and he fought them against upgraded marines.....I will never be able to get that image out of my head

Oh yeah doesn't early SanZenith have a bunch of fails like that? Pretty sure he blocked his FFE with his own buildings once--and another time someone blind proxied him in PvP and he didn't check smoke on Metalopolis (4 player map + close positions at the time).

This was the first game that came to my head. Nestea had nearly an insurmountable lead. It's like he intentionally threw it. I could have easily destroyed Huk in the situation Nestea was in. He sunk insane amounts of resources into pure baneling armies that just got crushed and accomplished nothing, over and over.

He hit G to restart warpgate i think.. It was pretty painful because Husky was casting and he didnt even notice
Does anyone remember Incontrol in WoL beta rushing for sentry drops in close air on lost temple? He dropped his sentries, deployed the warp prism, warped inn a few more sentries..and then, instead of blocking the ramp, he decided to go directly for the enemy's assimilator and cybernethics core.
I don't remember who it was against though, but oh man the jokes! "iNcontrol showing that he is, infact, not in control".

I watch that and wonder if LittleBoy was getting paid to lose. That's the only way I could explain Butterfly ever getting into the GSL, even if it was from the early days.
"All right, I'm gonna fast expand but leave a big opening in my wall for you to run through with hellions. I'll only have 5 marines to defend your 6 hellions, so you should be able to crush me easily. Oh crap, I defended it. Let me just screw up with some banshee play and let him catch back up that way. Oh, no, he has no detection and isn't pulling his workers. Hurry up and cancel cloak. Well, I'm way too far ahead. Let me quit the game and tell them I disconnected. All right, let me do the exact same build, and hope he doesn't screw up his response this time. Oh good, banshees, how can he screw that up? Let me just "forget" to pull workers, and not bother to move any of my marines. Hm... I can't just sit here and not do anything. Since he has banshees to defend it, I'll just send a few tanks to his natural, and position them just slightly out of position so they can't attack his CC. Oh good, I'm finally way behind. Wait, he just suicided his entire army into mine. What the hell am I supposed to do now? Well, I guess, I'll have to suicide my army too. Damn it, he's suiciding again. Why doesn't he ever siege? I'd better feed him some more units. Hurry up and kill me already you terrible player. Finally! I'm dead!"

that baneling on PF wasn't a fail. He had more than enough banelings to kill it but the tanks killed more than he expected.
the random baneling donation is the biggest fail I have ever seen as of yet. Jjakji vs Leenock

yes he danced them and didn't see the dark shrine which got MC back into the game leading to a MC win. Losira also infamously danced his lings on Bomber's ramp in the GSTL and then went on to lose the game as well

It was crazy how well he was doing with half his army being blocked by a drone haha. When his army suddenly flooded across the map it was both hilarious and relieving.

Well, in a way, it is easier to hold 2rax since you have more economy without scouting.
