I hope they don't make this mistake. I hope that isn't what "Titan" was. AND what this is. MMO's are going out quick, and there isn't much room left in those I'm affraid- unless it's totally different.

SC2 itself needs something big, and to be a little critical, the subjective "quality" of this content, to me, doesn't exactly seem that this is some HUGE release of a brand new game. This is hopefully somethin more for our SC2

To me, blackstone sounds like it might have something to do with that artifact, possible terrans trying to harness it, and the XelNaga. We will see.

Themepark MMOs are a dying market, a good new sandbox MMO would be terrific though.

I really miss Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies =(

Combat system sucked balls, but hell i miss that kind of sandbox MMOs.

Themepark MMOs are a dying market, a good new sandbox MMO would be terrific though.

I read that article, too, and I saw a flaw in the logic. "Themepark" MMOs don't fail because there's no market for it, they fail because they're competing in a market where one giant did it first and does it better. It's the same reason the iPad dominates the tablet market.

And what will inevitably defeat the iPad? The iPads 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. The next successful MMO will be created by the people who can increment on the success of the first one, the ones who have access to all the accomplishments that were praised and have a map of the pit falls that weren't.

If the 10 million people still playing WoW wanted something different they could have found it by now. What they want is something better and Blizzard is likely to be the one to give it to them.

The reason people keeps playing wow is not because it's better, it's because they have invested hundreds of hours on their character while paying a monthly fee for the pleasure of doing so. You are deluding yourself if you think it's just about doing things better. And do you really think apple keeps their dominance with the ipad purely on performance?

Except WoW still remains the most polished MMO experience.

The problem is, people are always comparing new MMOs to WoW which has had many years now to polish it's experience and they get frustrated when things aren't perfect right away. The only thing that can ever make WoW go away at this point is Blizzard.

This is cool. Maybe Blizzard is trying to bring back some sort of 3rd person single player game, like SC:Ghost?

That's not the people problem, that's developer's fault for trying to make another WoW on a genre you can't compete to a game who had that many years of success and polishement. This story has been repeating itself since warhammer online (i don't count Age of Conan... because the combat system was awesome, too bad it was bugged as fuck). There are only a handful non-themepark MMORPGs out there, and all of them catter to a very small kind of community (ultra hardcore, pvp'ers, complexity).

We are interested in finding a means to both arrest the obligatory asymmetric replication (the astounding healing factor) of the zerg, and adapt it (in some measure) for our Dominion soldiers.

Isn't this the new reaper healing?

WoW was felt polished while it was in beta. They're one of the only companies that just 'gets it', and makes completely smooth and awesome gameplay. It lacked features at launch and suffered greatly from server stability but it was polished.

Blizzard is just filled with amazing talent and must be an amazing place to work. Other MMO's can't touch WoW from the point it looks awkard just to move around.

Im actually a bit exited about this but i fear that this little stunt will drag on way to long and make alot of people loose intrest before we get to know what this "project" is all about.

Think about it, though. MMOs give you the steadiest revenue stream from a franchise.

They once said in Activision-Blizzard press conference that they are going to make ONE free game and an MMO. We all know that MMO = Titan. So This will probably be the FREE GAME that they said they gonna make in the future.(They said that in 2011 Press Conference)

I am going to go on a limb and agree with this. That's what this probably is.

Good news is that Everquest 3 will be a sandbox MMO instead of themepark.

Indeed, just compare WoW to all the "WoW-killers." Guess which one came out on top?

But then you have a game like EVE. It is an MMO so yes it is "competing" with WoW but it's a totally different experience when compared to WoW (World of warcraft being the supreme themepark MMO right now while EVE is the best sand box MMO on the market).

It's probably because there won't actually be any data up for week 2 yet to crack into.

It's actually a group of remanent UED scientist and soldiers that were stationed on the planet Braxis. The whole human/zerg research is being done on their very own Alexei Stukov, who was infested by the Zerg cerebrate Kaloth shortly after he died. . Before Alexei's death he hid the blueprint of the Psi Disrupter. The remanent of the UED reunite and reconstruct the Psi Disrupter. Their plans are to control the Zerg again to maintain order within the sector under the alias "Project Blackstone". Since Kerrigan has lost a lot of the control she once had on the Zerg and all of the cerebrates are dead, nothing will stop the Psi Disrupter once it's activated. Alexei will then become the "King of the Swarm".
