The last weeks shows that the business model of eSports clans does not work any more in its current form. Running a sustainable and stable business was no longer possible under these circumstances Current form? As opposed to what? What circumstances? I'm sorry if I'm being slow here but I'm just curious.

Compare all of competitive games internationally now to what, 5 years ago. There's more people watching, bigger prizepools and more mainstream sponsors. Everything is better, and mtw can't make it work now while they could 5 years ago? I'd say that's probably more due to mismanagement than overall 'stagnation'. (Sure, now someone brings up Korea and BW, but that never had any influence on teams outside of korea.)

Its sad they had to shut down, and the way things are going if teams dont have top of the line teams in star2 and dota. Then they need at least a good LoL team to survive. League seems to be keeping everything afloat for the time being. So im not surprised that organizations not only players are turning to LoL.

I think in general, only about 5-6 teams can consistently survive at top level. Because if you're team #8 , you're very unlikely to ever win anything, so why should sponsors even bother with you, unless you can provide some sort of advertising revenue model aside from being exposed as a tournament winner. This is why e-sports has to become more watched and accepted at the general public level. Sponsorship for up and coming teams has to come from sources other than advertising and it needs to cover more than just travel to events.
