damn it, they were my cs heroes (ie after TAMM shut down). They also had many successful squads and players in so many different games. ol'friend of mine went to cpl dallas as part of their ut team back in the early days of the millennium; loved the support for Dimaga as well and now they are gone - after 15 years. What is that feeling? I guess that's how growing old feels...

Can someone explain to me what he means by:

The last weeks shows that the business model of eSports clans does not work any more in its current form. Running a sustainable and stable business was no longer possible under these circumstances

Current form? As opposed to what? What circumstances?

I'm sorry if I'm being slow here but I'm just curious.

Wow that was amazing, thx for the clip.

Funny noticed kHRYSTAL in there to, I played with him in BF3. Didnt know he had been so high up in CS 1.6.

mTw has been such a big part of european e-sports. Sad to see them go, i still remember watching their RtCW team dominate the scene. And not to forget their warcraft 3 squad, who also got the nickname "manner Tower works" thanks to Tak3r and his prodigies.

This is such panicky nonsense.

Compare all of competitive games internationally now to what, 5 years ago. There's more people watching, bigger prizepools and more mainstream sponsors. Everything is better, and mtw can't make it work now while they could 5 years ago? I'd say that's probably more due to mismanagement than overall 'stagnation'.

(Sure, now someone brings up Korea and BW, but that never had any influence on teams outside of korea.)

I heard about this a few days ago through counter strike fourms

Its sad they had to shut down, and the way things are going if teams dont have top of the line teams in star2 and dota.
Then they need at least a good LoL team to survive. League seems to be keeping everything afloat for the time being. So im not surprised that organizations not only players are turning to LoL.
What do you mean you heard me during the night, these are quiet pants!

I think in general, only about 5-6 teams can consistently survive at top level. Because if you're team #8 , you're very unlikely to ever win anything, so why should sponsors even bother with you, unless you can provide some sort of advertising revenue model aside from being exposed as a tournament winner.

This is why e-sports has to become more watched and accepted at the general public level. Sponsorship for up and coming teams has to come from sources other than advertising and it needs to cover more than just travel to events.

Unfortunate, but unsurprising. Hope Dimaga can find a new team soon.

mTw was big back when 1.6 was the eSports, other than that they were mediocre in other games.

So sad. Though 3D, WeW, eoL, and later NaVi were my favorite teams/clans back in my CS days, they were always up there for top teams, especially later in the teams career.
