I have to say that Destiny kind of should've seen this coming. I mean it really sucks for him and his family, but reading the skype log, it was kind of obvious this "Oleg" guy wasn't legit. I sincerely hope this resolves for the best and Destiny and that streaming platforms get their shit together. Maybe AzubuTV will be more stable if it gets released. PS. Weirdly enough, the video announcing AzubuTV (hosted on justintv / twitch) has been removed O.O http://www.azubu.com/archives/4648

edit how is this a beginner's guide? hasn't this kid been kicked off of multiple teams for being an asshole? I wouldn't pay this kid a haypenny no matter how "badass" of a gamer he is.

Personally, the minute someone doesn't meet their contractual obligations with me, I'm out. I stop providing services or payment until things get worked out. I'm more interested in what Destiny was doing to support his family in the last 3 months before finally breaking his contract.

I know joindota streams on Own3d, and so does Navi (dendi often pulls around 10k viewers just on a regular streaming session) and also a lot of the most popular streamers in LoL stream on own3d as far as I know (Don't really know the viewerships there that much but think someone like Ocelote, and maybe also CLG or TSM or both, are both pretty high up there). I saw froggen at 30-35k yesterday, and the others from CLG often are between 5k and 15-20k. All of TSM is around 20k too. All on Twitch, of course. Only ones on own3d with those numbers are CLG.na, it's been a while tho. It's a lot of viewers lost with only those two teams. I'm still quite curious on how it's big news, I was sure everyone knew own3d had a lot of problems with their payment system. I've heard of those things since more than 6 months. I hope now, players will have the balls to stop their contracts with own3d if they have the same problems, since it doesn't appear it's getting better.

It's been known forever, but it's big news cause this is the first time a streamer went public with it and in detail. All other streamers were too scared to before, I would guess. Every big LoL streamer could have made the same post destiny did, but they never did. Therefore, the general public who didn't hear about it before, just found out how bad it was yesterday.

I remember not watching tobiwan's casts because it was always through own3d, which for some reason is incredibly laggy and shitty for me(I'd assume it's my connection's fault, but the lag only occurs on own3d streams). One thing is for certain, it's good that people out when this kind of situation occur. If you just sit on yourself and move on without calling them out, these kind of issues will just occur more and more. I don't think it is your internet connection because I have a really good internet connection and own3d lags for me sometimes as well. I think it is own3d's infrastructure that sucks. I also don't know why people prefer to stream on own3d. I don't think own3d provides a good viewing experience anyways (if there is no lag). The website design is pretty awful and I personally don't like the chat system on own3d.

U should place this in the right perspective tho. When destiny posts something, it isnt the truth, its his truth. Thats the big difference, a story like this has 2 sides. I see here alot of posts like the oleg/guy is an asshole, but be honest, destiney didnt hold to the contract, this is bad. After this, he is flaming oleg and owned.tv because he breached his contract. Thats nothing to be proud of if i were destiny... WIll be interesting how this turns out.

But before Destiny ended up leaving own3d, they had already been failing to pay him since July (which he received much much later than July). The contract at this point was already breached, how long was Destiny supposed to abide by these terms without pay but still streaming on their service? And from the overall conversation from all the popular streamers on own3d, this does not seem to just be a "Destiny Problem". While own3d has their side of the story, not paying the people providing you content for nearly half a year is too much.

You might want to look over how many people talk about how own3d had failed to live up to their promises and deliver pay to their streamers. Whether you like Destiny or not is irrelevant. Whether Oleg is an asshole is irrelevant. Clearly Destiny didn't hold to the contract, but there was an escape clause and he was willing to meet that clause. It wasn't flaming, it was more here's some information about own3d's business model. The main topic to be discussed here should be getting more information about own3d and whether they are paying players/teams/streamers and not Destiny.

Not to mention they shot them selves in the foot by not paying Destiny, even if they were using some back alley tactics taking money from others to pay their former contracts to give them an appearance of legitimacy, not paying Destiny was a bad mistake. if we assume that they are a legitimate buisness however, they are now screwed anyways because they will lose most others who streamed on their site and noone new will come to them. not to mention what they will lose to a class action lawsuit that is bound to come of this. im sure there is atleast one probono lawyer out there waiting to take this case.

if you want money actually win a tournament for once. I absouletly hate the streaming model, i believe in the long run it hurts the scene as a whole by watering down the amount of content viewable at any time. This detracts from the specialness of tournaments and creates an atmosphere where the viewer thinks they deserve things for free. Awful, you all brough this upon yourselves. Read the contracts people, and think ahead. Shame. User was temp banned for this post.
