if you want money actually win a tournament for once.
I absouletly hate the streaming model, i believe in the long run it hurts the scene as a whole by watering down the amount of content viewable at any time. This detracts from the specialness of tournaments and creates an atmosphere where the viewer thinks they deserve things for free.
Awful, you all brough this upon yourselves. Read the contracts people, and think ahead. Shame.
Well congratulations, you've actually gone beyond the usual level of retardation we see in these kind of threads to a place few have dared to tread. You are an embarrassment.

Are you 100% sure there is a clause in those contracts that say "we pay you when we please, and some times we never pay you"?

I'm appalled by this some members of this communities' willingness to focus on the relatively unimportant (Destiny) when discussing such an important topic (own3d doesn't pay streamers).
LOL! what own3d did is obviously wrong but destiny is a funny man XD
The point the other guy was trying to make is the fact you guys keep bombarding this thread with your thoughts on destiny when it has little to do with his actual character and has everything to do with how streamers collect their paychecks. This has been an issue for a very long time. Collecting for just about everything in this scene has always been problematic.

You do realize Destiny, for one, isn't a pro-gamer right? He dabbled in it sure, but I don't think he ever considered himself a 'pro-gamer'. His main source of income was always streaming, so winning a tournament for him, Athene and others like them wasn't feasible. And as for watering down content and tourneys, they do that to themselves with just the sheer amount of them.
By all accounts it sounds like own3d is on the fast track to bankruptcy lol. I don't know why any streamer would stick own3d anymore after this news. The ship is sinking.

I agree with you. But for some reason when you mix destiny with some type of issue it always causes controversy LMAO

All other streamers were too scared to before, I would guess. Every big LoL streamer could have made the same post destiny did, but they never did. Therefore, the general public who didn't hear about it before, just found out how bad it was yesterday.
Okay, thanks ! True that no one did a statement before.

TB my new Hero! good god there is still someone out there spanking all the narrowminded ppl
Athene (also a streamer on Own3D along with others on AtheneLive) has sparked a big debate here. If Own3D falls, this could give Twitch a monopoly, which Athene doesn't want.

Perhaps you can generalize to the internet, but at minimum, this is some members of the TL Sc2 community...
If Own3d is not paying streamers then they most likely have financial issues. They wont go out and say they have financial issues as that would make it even worse. Twitch.tv has become incredibly big and its due to a way better website in my opinion. So i guess Own3d will fall apart soon.

It should not surprise you that who is involved is as important as what is involved. That is the way real life works. No one is impartial.
Take this as a lesson: if you want support choose likable people to be the face. If this thread was titled "Husky has problems with own3d" the entire content of this thread would be different.

U should place this in the right perspective tho. When destiny posts something, it isnt the truth, its his truth. Thats the big difference, a story like this has 2 sides. I see here alot of posts like the oleg/guy is an asshole, but be honest, destiney didnt hold to the contract, this is bad. After this, he is flaming oleg and owned.tv because he breached his contract. Thats nothing to be proud of if i were destiny... WIll be interesting how this turns out.
He didn't get payed for 6 month, how is someone supposed to follow a contract then? If I do not get my payment I can leave the contract, it's as simple as that.
It annoys me so much as it discourages people from doing what I enjoy watching most and its just unfair on all of the streamers. This needs to be fixed.

Anyone wants a monopoly but let's be honest here. own3D fu***** sucks. Deal with it. own3D already lost everyone due not providing the best services (both for customers/viewers as well as streamers) and the only ones remaining there are Na'Vi (Dendi gets 10,000 concurrent viewers almost every time he streams), Counter Logic Gaming, SingSing and joinDOTA.
If Twitch provides good content for us and keeps the streamers happy with everything and keeps improving I don't see any problem with that. Worry not because there will be a competitor sooner rather than later if that indeed happens.

Really? huh. I just hear a pot calling a kettle black.
Livestream, ustream, dailymotion, youtube... there are several other streaming sites that people can use. The only difference is these do not actively target gamers.
