So many people are ignoring the fact that it is a business that needs to make money and that it is one of a kind at the moment.
Granted the prices seem a bit steep, but then why not compete with a far better deal and rake in the dough. Probably because it is an investment and you need to have everything ready for the first customers before they have paid. People saying they make a killing off of this might be correct, but I reckon they have a lot of debts juxtaposing that profit of theirs.
Seems like both parties failed at basic business though, Fuzer for paying/agreeing to the contract by accepting the facilities and MoW by accepting Fuzer without him signing the contract.
Everyone thinking that MoW should be a non-profit are either not wanting to take ESPORTS seriously or might be still living in the bubble that is their parents wealth.

I dont really understand you story. Does this mean your an idiot but that doesn mean all americans are? is that your point? Oh yeah and way too much info about your friend's sex life.

why did they try to make fuzer pay last part of "rent"?? If i'm not mistaken he paid 600e every month and it was not time to pay the last bit yet or atleast right at that moment or he will be kicked out.
Also why does they want lawyer license? Fuzer wanted lawyer to check because Fuzer did not trust on his own english.
This is bullshit.

The Truth is, MoW should never let someone stay in their house WITHOUT a proper contract SIGNED. For SO MANY reasons. This kind of shit is just one of them. Even more so, Fuzer should never had payed without that contract signed!
Both of the parties are completely unprofessional in this story. Going on a witchunt against the boss of MoW is stupid, Fuzer should have read and negociated before giving the guy money in the first place.

ok so i wake up and this is their statement ? time to boycott them for my part //

You can make profit of course (its the point of any buisness), but you have to do it according to the Law and the fact that they didnt want their "contracts" looked by a lawyer is really suspicious for me.

I don't know about the Polish law, but in France if you sign a contract containing abusive clauses, they can be nullified by a court. The rest of the contract remains valid.
In this case, the only abusive clause stated by Fuzer would be the 10 years thing. This makes no sense at all if you\re a progamer, it the same as forbid you to breathe.

from my point of view its ok. Every contract is an intellectual properthy, and this is a young branch. You just dont send those to random people

Very true, it would however behove them to not put abusive clauses in the contract but with most contracts you'd rather have it to tight than to loose.

This all sounds sketchy from both sides, but they said that the 10-year clause was true? That sounds way too sheisty to me personally. I hope they get whatever figured out though...

lol go to war.. get over yourselves, seriously.
this is what happens when people who have no idea what they are doing try to start a business

The truth is, that in esports many people get scammed in a lot of games. Might be different in South Korea, since they have a national Organisation, but i don't know about this. But outside of this, unless you are a really top player, it's easy to be scammed, especially, since players foremost care about their game, and not money. Look at the CPL farce for example...
I played CS:S online and on LANs, and we had 2 different managers, who both tried to screw us over, one of them succeeding and taking about 500 € from our clanleader.
People always think there's not much money in esports, and that someone like MoW are sacrificing and working out of love of the game. That is totally wrong. It's one of the most relaxed businesses to run, you get boatloads of money from the sponsors, and as you can see, go party 3 times a week...

Ahah no. But i agree with you, both side were indeed in the wrong, but i can excuse more easly a yong player who is trying to realise his dream to improve at starcraft2 to be naive and to not have signed a contract beforehand. I excuse a lot less easly a gaming house manager who have responsability, to act like he acted.
- he should have let Fuzer have a lawer to help him if he wanted - he should not have talked like he did in this skype conversation - he should have addressed the issue right away instead on taking a third party like esfi - the video of players saying how nice the house is, is realy missplaced and should not have been made, feel just like propaganda to me - http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Ministry_of_Win i like how they advertise their "well designed diet" when we know what it realy was
For me they just try to milk away the players for money while not caring if they crush their dream or not.
The only way i can support Fuzer in this is by boycotting, i dont see a point in doing anything else, so that what i'll do.

- House guest slavery - Late night staff parties - Awful food (yes I said it) - Delay of official statement - Withholding money in a shady way - Player not allowed to join another gaming house in the coming 10 years..... ...Stephano said it the best...

You are totally right.
Fuzer is probably a bit unresponsible, and should have been more cautious.
MoW boss is just dishonest and trying to fuck people over.
PS: Yeah the worst part is the food. Meat balls and Fries? Fuck you, I want fuckin nicoise salad followed by tournedos rossini. We know how to fuckin live in France!

They can't forbid him from showing the contract to anyone, just like you go to bank to take a loan and you want to read contract peacfully - it's not of their concern to who you will show the text of the contract. Yes, what MoW organised is fresh and all, but hell - they're doing so many mistakes it's not even funny. Not mentioning kropek (one of the founders) with his shady past (failed CoD tournament and prize money drama). It just looks like they did everything wrong right from the start.
