Hey guys.
How about we drop the conversation regarding her gender and the signing? How does it affect you? Is this really anything new? What are you going to accomplish by attempting to tear her down? The hate/jealously going on here is embarrassing actually.
Christ. Some of you need to grow up. Any discussion on the subject after this post will result in a mandatory temp ban.

Also thanks to the other positive comments on here so far, everyone ♥ I'm sorry to those of you who get so butt-hurt that someone you don't know gets support from a team, in which you don't know the circumstances, and literally does not affect you at all. You know these are people you're talking about, right? Who read your comments? Not sure why many people feel the need to be so hateful towards things that really don't affect them? I do not KNOW the circumstances, but I would have to guess that you were not signed because of your skill or dedication to starcraft 2. And who are you to question my dedication or passion for StarCraft 2? Now we'll just look at facts, people aren't "butt hurt" it's the same as seeing someone in real life get an underserving job / promotion due to looks / gender people just don't like to see people get free rides for how you look, it's not out of jelousy it's out of other people working for what they get instead of having it handed to them for no reason. You're dediction and passion? Let's examine you're dedication and passion shall we? Last 1v1 Ailuj played was 7 weeks ago where you played about 10 games, ok ok, 7 weeks? Ah maybe she took a break, was on vacation who knows lets dig further, ok before that it was another 4 weeks before any 1v1's . I'm not quite sure that's on the same level of dedication and passion of people who typically get PAID to be on a team and that's why people would like to express opinions on this topic, not simply because they are "butt hurt". Me myself personally, If I were on a team simply for my looks which from the context of all posts on this thread seems to be the clear cut reason of the signing here, I would be embarrassed to pretend it was for reason other than that especially claiming its for "dedication and passion". My take on this thread, remember people have opinions which usually get discussed in forum threads, if you didn't want a discussion and to see people's opinions on the signing, why make a thread about it? You are really looking into this way too much. Calm down man. Congrats on the team, btw. It literally takes 2 minutes to login and see that information on battlenet with less than 5 clicks of a mouse, such effort. I appreciate your detailed discussion on this ongoing topic. I'm gonna do you a favor and tell you something important in hopes that you stop wasting your time arguing over this : life is not fair, there's nothing you can do about it, it's the team's decision, now move along. That's the worst logic ever. Why are you wasting your time telling him not to waste his? Seems a little odd there bud. First of all, I'm certain that I've spent a lot less time than he has on this thread, now, what I am doing is in fact very logical, by telling him to stop I'm trying to avoid further waste of time and pointless discussions, you got that buddy?
You're still wasting your own time, no?

You people QQing about people calling out the gender stratification here are retarded. She got signed because she's a girl. Not because she's good. She's in fucking diamond league FFS. Julia, QQ all you want, you got signed because you're attractive. Congratulations. I'm actually surprised you have the capability to take pride in such a thing when you know that's exactly what happened.
Hey, Mod that wrote the "How does it affect you?" disclaimer. It fucking affects the gaming community because a certain number of individuals who actually work hard to improve in this game and are actually skilled have a hard time making teams. It's a direct smack into the face of the SC community every time a girl gets signed because of her looks. It's happened to this particular one twice. You have the audacity to defend an extremely sexist gesture for what? Because it's "mean" state the truth? Get real. What's next, Tarababcock getting signed to IM? Where does it end?
ATTN: TL Mods banning people that simply want the continuity of SC2 gaming, and the community, to remain something that SKILLED gamers can be a part of. Way to set a heroic example

First of all, Gratz for finding a team !
Im kinda sad that she joined infused, since my good mates left the team to join WW. But it really depends on what she is seeking in a team.
I allways wanted her to join my team ( Team BLAST ), but checkSix had her ^_^
I really hope she will do well in the future and the team will be nice to her =)

If you have an issue with moderation, please take it to website feedback.
However I will post some of my thoughts that I already posted in website feedback to hopefully alleviate some concern. Right here + Show Spoiler +On September 09 2012 01:36 Falling wrote: There have been cases where certain side-related topics of discussion have been limited in a thread when two conditions are met 1) Every single time we have a new thread, the discussion always tangents back to the same side-related topic 2) It's a discussion where people get super heated and generally poor posting results.
(Granted this is more an observation from past moderation as opposed to an actual rule we have somewhere.)
But to give two examples. A) Gun killing spree- the topic without exception devolves into the same old, tired gun control debate. So I've seen several similar topics just cut it off at the pass and direct people to discuss gun control in a separate thread. The topic simply morphs away from the original news post and turns every thread into a gun control debate. And people get pretty heated. It's a relevant side topic, but it becomes the only topic.
B) Female tournaments- without exception, they all turn into the same debate. Female tournaments do or do not limit females progress. And the tournaments are or are not sexist/ bad for the SC2 scene. And people get quite heated/nasty. The actual tournament get's left behind as we tread over the same tired ground. So again, it's probably better to block that avenue of discussion and direct it to it's own thread. Again, it's a relevant side topic, but it becomes the only topic.
So it seems to me, we're starting to run into this with everytime a female is signed on. There might be a time and place for arguing about how/why females are signed on to teams. But does every time a female get signed, do we need to turn THAT thread into the same topic, over and over again. Especially when people become heated/nasty.
Edit Actually even LR could also be seen in terms of that. Caster's may be doing a crappy job, but LR is not the place to complain about it. It turns every LR into caster bashing. Caster feedback where it's actual feedback and not heated needs to be in it's own thread. Same thing with balance whine in LR. Every LR would turn into balance whine (or maybe we're fighting the losing battle.) But in both cases, they are relevant side-topics, but they turn every LR thread into bashing and whining and it's pretty poor posting anyways. It's not like 'zerg imba' explicates anything of interest compared to a well thought out post and LR is a bad place for well thought out posts.
HOWEVER. If you want carry on this conversation on moderation, please use this thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=367056 or create another.
Don't use this thread to argue the point.

I remember seeing your very first televised game several months back. To have a professional team sign you is a great mark of progress and you have come a long way from then. I wish you the very best and hope for many great accomplishments in the road ahead.

This is an open board, we are allowed to express our opinions as long as we follow the rules. Which you ditttn, and you got a warn/temp-ban for it... Anyways, congratulations to her, while this turning into a sexist thread is sad... I do hope she reads between the lines..."You are pretty"... aaaand that's probably all she can get out of this thread...Hope she can show some good results and shut people up.
I don't think you understand what sexism is... The signing is sexist. People arguing that based on merit, she doesn't deserve it are right, if perhaps a little naive into how the business world works, even in esports.
edit: obviously those who are just spouting random bullshit like get back in the kitchen are sexist morons, but i'm not speaking about those people because it's obvious to a rational human being that they are in the wrong

I just want to make sure I understand: the post you linked to is if we have concerns with the moderation of the thread, correct? Can you also link to a thread where it IS acceptable to discuss gender and SC2 (or, if necessary, suggest where one could be created and under what conditions)?

Yes the link is for concerns about moderation.
In theory (big emphasis on theory) one would have to actually make that thread similar how we have one Balance Discussion thread to collect all balance discussion and one Gun Control thread to collect all gun control. My hesitancy to outright recommend that this theoretical thread be made is that I can easily it becoming one of THOSE threads. The gong show thread and a ban trap at that. People get really personal and really nasty/heated really quickly.

Isn't the point of having a thread like that supposed to be that the ban-hammer rules are a little more relaxed and an actual discussion among adults can take place? I'm confident the moderation staff can easily separate flaming posts and reasonable, logically driven, posts. As ETT has so clearly done in this thread, right? Right. THAT'S the point

Are you saying it's best not to make the thread about it here because it's very possible it'd be impossible to moderate, or are you saying someone could try to make the thread but it could easily get closed down? Sorry, I really don't mean to hijack this thread but I'm interested in the discussion.

Very top of the website it says "progaming news", last time i checked she isnt even semi pro, no offense but this thread shouldnt exist in the first place. Why does she deserve a thread over the other hundreds of diamond players?

Save your pitchforks for when (yes, when, not if) this thread makes frontpage for some magical reason.
Then again by the real definition of "professional" she may very well be professional technically (having made money from doing this activity).
I got a free lunch coaching someone sc2 once, thus I am a pro... /infallible_logic
![[image loading]](http://www.jameyhoward.com/filebucket/forumpics/cliche_technically_correct.jpg)
Personally I feel that 'semi-professionally' should cover up and to 'exclusive income sustaining your expenses', but that's just semantics.

Because she is a professional starcraft 2 player now. Whether or not she deserves that position or can compete with any other professional is irrelevant, she will be paid on a regular basis to represent a sponsored sc2 team and that makes her a 'pro'.

Yeah, that would certainly mean she is professional. But a professional "player"? No. She does not get paid to play this game professionally. She is getting paid to be a face on a team that has people that play this game "professionally". Actually, in this team's case "Semi-professionally"

As with any signing, best of luck in the future. I think the only games I've seen from you were against Losira and to be frank, you played quite awful. Hopefully with the new signing you dedicate more time towards trying to make some good results and everything.
Of course there is going to be a lot of negativity in the thread towards you, but one way to silence the "haters" is to just actually keep improving and doing well. Again, best of luck!

Sounds like you are referring to mascots....
Congrats on the signing, hopefully they can find some diamond/master level tournaments for you to represent them in.
