Hey guys. How about we drop the conversation regarding her gender and the signing? How does it affect you? Is this really anything new? What are you going to accomplish by attempting to tear her down? The hate/jealously going on here is embarrassing actually. Christ. Some of you need to grow up. Any discussion on the subject after this post will result in a mandatory temp ban. Added @ page 4

I'm glad it's so easy for you to get to masters, those of us who can't aren't lacking dedication or passion, we're lacking natural ability. Get off your high horse, dick. Good luck, and I'm glad to see females able to continue to be a part of the scene. Don't let the elitist masses get you down for your league or genitalia. Fuck em. Being elitist has nothing with ones views of female gamers to do, I'd argue that you're the one being elitist by bringing it into this thread. Personally I distress about Ailuj joining a pro team, because she basically built a career around that one time she randomly met a korean progamer in her first (?) round match at MLG and got featured on stage. According to people in this thread she is playing in diamond league and there are simply better female gamers out there who (based on skill) deserves finding a team more. I would like it if one or more teams made an actual effort to pick up female gamers to help them achieve their highest level of play, instead of picking up female gamers solely for the buzz of it and considering how there are 'unknown' high master and GM female gamers out there, it is not impossible for a team to pick one up with the goal of actually using her for team leagues and minor cups. People don't hate on Geoff for being on a team, or MB, or Rotterdam, Painuser, etc etc... (well, aside from their usual anti-fans). If you're building a brand, what better way to get your name out there than to recruit a popular streamer who is also popular at events? This just seems like a case of jealous nerds being jealous. Yeah, except Incontrol, Rotterdam, Painuser, and MaximusBlack have shown high level play at one point or another in their careers and have become community personalities afterwards (Incontrol winning WCG.USA in BW and doing well in early MLGs; Painuser doing well in early MLGs; Rdam for WC3; and MaximusBlack for general high level play). In comparison to those guys, Ailuj have no achievements and afaik she is not an active community figure besides lurking Your argument about recruiting a popular streamer to further ones brand can backfire, considering the posts (mine included) of this thread. It is not without reason that Destiny have left a couple of teams despite being very a very popular streamer and community figure. (just out of curiousity, how popular is her stream?) All that said, the best luck to Ailuj and infs.

So don't give me some bullshit about being jealous or anything along those lines. All that said, the best luck to Ailuj and infs. uhhh, what? Being elitist by pointing out that players who say not being master league shows you have no passion or dedication to the game? I don't think you understood my point, so I apologize for that. It is simply put, elitist to assume that 2 things having nothing to do with skill (passion and dedication) are dictated by your skill in the thing you're criticizing the passion and dedication of others in. Example: You are not dedicated to the american way of life because you are not one of the 1%. I'm one of the 1%, it was easy for me to get there, it would be easy for you to as well! Just have some passion for getting there! Be dedicated to earning your way to the top! You obviously don't want it bad enough, you're happy where you are. Note how this example shows one person deciding the otherwise subjective (objective? the one that depends on each individual's view) status of another, based on their ability to get somewhere that other person was able to get through little to no effort, disregarding all other things. The thing about her being female is totally separate, and anyone judging based on that is a backwards thinking idiot, but that's not at all what I was pointing out. The comment about not allowing herself to be judged by her genitalia was another, additional statement as encouragement for her and her push to make her gaming career everything it can be. Anyways, I'm drunk and need to stop posting. You guys have fun. GL HF Julia!

There's not many notable high level female players because teams sign females ONLY on their looks. Look at all the big name female players. Do you think it's a coincidence that they are all attractive? Of course not. Edit: Scarlett is an exception to the rule though. Veralynn is taking a rather methodical approach to competitive SC2 -- IIRC, she waited until making GM on EU before entering any tournaments, and she's stated that she needs to improve before she's ready to join a team.

If we didn't know what Ailuj looked like and only knew her record, a pro team wouldn't touch her with a 10 ft pole. She, last time I checked, was a diamond player and has been for a very long time. The only reason she is being picked up is because she is attractive and I feel bad for her. There are several other female pro gamers that would do a lot more for women in esports than Julia. Hiring Ailuj only supports a stereotype against women and gaming that I find to be toxic at best.

Then why would it be a good idea to take someone lacking natural ability onto a pro team? His point is not that its easy to get to Masters, its that someone who isn't in Masters seems a questionable pick for a team, since chances are they either don't play enough, or don't have the talent for it. But, perhaps there's just a much smaller talent pool to pick from for women at present, I don't know.

She is a girl. So what? She's just a progamer to me. Her results should be what matter to all of us. Her results thus far have not been high, but if she works hard enough at it then why shouldn't she be just as much of a competitor as everyone else? Put the work into it and you'll make it happen, Julia. Work hard and win.

Well not going to risk any kind of ban here as the discussion is marked off-limits, but disagree with that assessment. Good luck with the team, learn from my fellow UK brethren! I know Lau's good and it's a good team for us British players to develop on. Hating on a player for taking an opportunity most of us would love to get is just in bad form and she seemed quite personable from what I saw when she played Losira at that MLG

I can guarantee you that at least half the haters on this thread had no idea who team infused was until now, ( I sure as hell didnt and i follow SC2 and play at high level a shit ton). She is really marketable, and shes not that bad of a player either. No achievements you say? First female player to be in the booth on the main stage at MLG. Everyone talked about her that weekend. All the players were probably thinking * Holy sh*t who is that amazingly attractive girl in that booth? Team *X* uh... interesting...*. Good pickup, and Im sure its not the biggest investment either, well worth it for both parties I can guarantee you that. I bet Blight gaming wish *they* picked her up before them ![]()
