As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks. |

Your statement does nothing to disprove his point. His logic is sound yo!! Alicia defeated Leenock who then made it to the Championship bracket! Ergo Destiny would also have made it to Championship Bracket! Leenock even won the whole thing... I M SURE DESTINY IS THE SAME CALIBRE! Oh wait... Alicia then lost to Leenock.. who da thunk? No, I proved he is not an 'absolute joke'. He got farther in the tournament than Beastyqt did, and Destiny forfeited both matches on Saturday. If you want to say that he's not a top player then I will definitely agree to that, but in no way is he an absolute joke of a player.

I think that was obvious...

This community (SC in general) has way too many hypocrites. How come it is okay to contact sponsors to support Esport, but not when someone fucks up? Reddit is full of complains about those who contacted the sponsors, but who is at fault really? The guy who fucked up big time or them? It seems like supporting Esports means throwing money at the big personas, the established players and casters but criticism is not wanted.
There's a good reason why I dislike foreign players and teams. There are fewer troubles with Korean players, especially those who are coming from BW (match-fixing aside and those were luckily punished). They just play and deliver results, rather than being entertainers who are in for the money. (I realize that that does not apply to all foreigners. But looking at the "best" foreigners, you can pretty much see them on the SC TMZ [reddit] every week.)

On a serious note, what we can learn from this is that nude photographs (dick pixxx included) are always a gamble. A fun, sexy gamble. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. We have several. They're called forums.
But we don't have sneaky paparazzi or a hub dedicated entirely to drama! It's all so unorganised! Wouldn't you want to know exactly where to go when the inevitable Starcraft sex tape is released?

Why not just close these threads? It's pointless talking about it, it won't solve anything. What's done is done, now all that's left is a bunch of white knights defending blue tea and thinking that their opinion on the matter is right. So many non-intelligent people on this planet. Reading Reddit and threads like this on TL just shows how stupid the human race is. So sad.

1. She sent him nude pix and asked for sex (also imagine for a second the shitstorm had it been the other way around..). She didnt just send them to a "nice" player like sheth or tlo.. She probably watched his streams a couple of times so she must have known how he is like.
2. He discussed said pictures with 2 friends on skype. He didnt discuss it in stream chat, he was even reluctant to show the pictures to those "friends"..
3. Somehow sponsors get involved??
Its easy to ride to the defence of the poor helpless woman.. but dont you think she can defend herself? She sent nude pictures of herself to a stranger, asking him to have sex with her. So she is obviously pretty confident about her looks. That person made some comments about her face and she posted his junk all over his twitter. So she obviously can handle the situation pretty well on her own.
And in 2 weeks this whole thing will be forgotten.
But who wins in this one? Destiny lost his team, the girl didnt get laid as she wanted, Catz said he didnt really want to loose Destiny, the sponsors fear loosing money over this.. Only a few dickheads who wrote emails about something that didnt concern them may get a minor hard on for a few minutes..
And make no mistake: this conversation happens every day millions of times! And not just among men! How do you think women talk about boyfriends, co workers...
Finally: to those who fear that this will "harm esports".. you are wrong. All this does is show how far esports has gone. When you can afford to have a bunch of "fans" who dont care about games but start writing to sponsors about what players have said in private chats. When you get fired from your team not because you are a mediocre player, but because you said things every one of your team members, leaders or even sponsors has said in the past.
What do you think football players talk about after a game when they drink with some friends? Or baseball players? Do you really believe they praise women for their contributions to science? The only difference is that their conversations are not automatically logged somewhere.
How about you follow your own advice? Personally I find this whole thing hilariously silly, but do you think Destiny is a poor helpless person? If you criticize people for defending someone capable of defending themselves, I would suggest you not defend Destiny either.

Most professional SC2 players were nobodies, with no education, and no decent job prospects. When easy money and what little fame comes your way, you kind of want it to last a while. Hence all the circlejerking between pros and building brand awareness. Emailing sponsors in these instances is good I believe. It keeps the players grounded in reality. Some of these young players don't seem to understand that their actions have consequences and how arrogant they come off. For example two of them posted in this thread. Instead of shutting up and letting their boss and coach speak for them, they try to justify themselves and continue to tarnish their team's reputation.
It shouldn't take a genius to realize when you're at fault (the constant team dismissals) and either try to rectify the situation or stop trying to act like a victim and continue on.
Everyone acts so surprised when bigots act like bigots. Frankly I love it when this stuff happens, schadenfreude at its purest.

Big mouth Destiny. Has 2 choices: a) quietly bang the girl b) yapping around on skype
We didnt let him go because of his racism, but because he is a fucking stupid human being

Sheehs, you're clearly a child. All Koreans care about is "money" as well, just like the rest of the human race. Money = food/water/apt or house. Koreans aren't passionate if that's what you were referring to. Very few may be passionate but not many of them. People with personality that bring in sponsors or views> Koreans who just grind games all day and do nothing to further E-sports. You should really stick to Reddit with such shitty thinking.
Also about how you said the SC community is full of hypocrites. You're right it really is, only because they go to sponsors for everything now. (I blame Alex Garfield for this btw) Anyways, that's all people do when something happens like the Destiny situation. It just turns into a circle jerk on Reddit and lynch mobs. I guess this what happens when most of our community is just young people that don't get how anything works. But whatever, keep circle jerking, keep destroying careers, and keep the down syndrome.

Might as well keep questioning it, I share them with friends too.
Edit: To Catz; I don't envy your position man, having to choose between a friend and a business can't be easy. To Fayth and TT1: You guys have nothing to apologize for. There's quite a few of us that have had the same conversations (photos included). The only difference is your conversation was leaked by a stalker.

judging by reddit and TL posts destiny isn't exactly a good faith debate opponent, so maybe this sort of thing really is for the best. I'd rather have destiny's fanbase in here than the man himself trying to redeem statements like how he apparently was seriously considering informing bluetea's place of work and college about this torrid drama.
|
in a parallel universum, Destiny has 4 GSL Trophys and MVP trolls around the Internet taking things for granted.
|
So I guess this ends destiny's chances of ever playing for another team again, unless he starts consistently beating Code S caliber players. Even then I'm not sure.
|
I find it funny that people are trying to undertake a detailed psychoanalysis of destiny and TT1 by looking at a Skype chat log. I think what Destiny did may have been unwise, sharing pictures obviously betrayed the confidence of Bluetea somewhat, but I don't think its as morally objectionable as some of you saints seem to be implying. I find the accusations of misogyny quite odd as well, sure there may be an element of that involved, but its not like its something exceptionally evil; many times I've heard women talked about in such a way by men that I wouldn't think of as bad people but rather as lead to such a negative mindset but the attitudes of society as a whole. If their interaction took the form of sending nude pictures to each other then it doesn't seem entirely terrible to speak of it in a way that objectifies her, as it would seem that the relationship between the individuals was one in which they viewed each other as 'sexual objects'. Its not like he went up to some random person whose looks didn't please him and criticised her appearance.
The fact that the discussion was in a private chat really diminishes how bad I think the whole thing is.

awful both ways. But....a personal fight about a guy showing nudes to two friends =/= ruining a professional career and showing nudes to 40,000+ people.
