I also feel pretty bad for kespa to be forced into sending people (and trolling gom by sending 90 players), i just feel like they are being bullied into to something they don't feel is right for the scene they created on their own - yes, people keep forgetting kespa actually created this scene that we all seem to take for granted
but whatever, the emberassing results will be sort of entertaining too i guess They wanted to compete, they opened the OSL to the non-KeSPA players. And there is not only the KeSPA created scene. KeSPA wanted to be a part of the scene outside KeSPA and they have to be symetrical in what they want and what they give. of course they wanted to be a part of it - they'll be a part of everything in good time. it's no news to anyone that both kespa itself and the kespa players have said it will take a long time to be worthwile in a competition, and now they are under the peer pressure of the entire world to go an emberass themselves EDIT: about opening the OSL for non kespa players - this is a completely different issue where kespa have the chance to showcase 'the best players' in a kespa run tournament to give kespa players and kespa fans to chance to see SC2 at the highest possible level without giving up integrity
Embarrassment from losing? Humans learn from our mistakes or in Starcraft's terms - our replays. If there are KeSPA players who feel like they lose face from losing to GOM players then thats their mental loss, the stronger willed players will take what they can from their losses, learn from them and come back harder than ever next time. Only the strong survive.
The bottom line is, the sooner they are in and face their fears, the sooner they will get better and ultimately produce higher quality games for themselves and their fans.

Chae said in host post that they are considering giving 2 code S seeds to Kespa players. To clarify, would that be 8 players from season 3 Ro8, 12 players from season 3 code A Ro24, 10 players from U&D, and 2 Kespa seeds?
|
Ah yes, I'm glad things are working out. Let's hope that typhoon doesn't do more damage than it should.

good thing that they worked things out.

Excellent! Pretty much a perfect resolution as far as I'm concerned, we have lost nothing but ESF have made it clear that Kespa cannot just dictate terms.

You know OSL gave half their spots to GSL players right? Wasn't there a qualifier? Two qualifiers. One for the KeSPA players and the other for GSL players (protectionist measure to help the former group?).

How likely is it that Kespa players would come in start kicking so much ass that GOM players are out? I just don't see these Kespa players coming in and wrecking the currently entrenched non-kespa players...

They have a pretty retarded way of doing business in Korea -__-;;
But I'm glad that we the fans got what we wanted this time, but if this is how they are all gonna continue to do business then I don't see this working out well for all of us in the long run. I remember the koreans doing a smiliar move in the beginning of sc2 when they weren't happy with what they got from a tournament. It's the business equivalent of kicking someone in the nuts and running away.
Though I'm glad Kespa got put in their place.
I hope GSL stays the awesome tournament that it is! Their content for nonkoreans is just incredible

a qualifier for GSL players only, with some of them getting automatic seeds.

The reason the OSL should get the right to invite players to their tournament without sending players to GSL is that they have their own fans. that's actually what it boils down to in the end.
the old bw fans are not going to care about sc2 without seeing the best players play the old superstars in a tournament they already can relate to. I know they already had the proleague but the format was screwed so it didn't really do them justice. the other part is that the GSL doesn't need the kespa players to run a good tournament with a strong following to back it up, the OSL need the gom players to showcase real skill to the dedicated bw fans
i'm not trying to be a dick about this, i just really dislike how the foreigner scene can bring a VERY successful organisation to its knees like this when they have given us some of the best years in our lives. This (to me) is a case of blackmailing and peer pressure, i think many of you posting here are just following the concensus without thinking - don't turn into reddit pls -_-
EDIT: I get the whole freedom for the players issue that some of you are trying to get at, but it's just such a small thing compared to the shady dealings kespa are known for - seriously, telling your players they have to wait 1 or 2 seasons before competing on the highest possible level isn't a big issue at all to me

So Kespa lost. Times are changing.

Man... these Koreans. Even their e-Sports drama is on a level above foreigners.

Yay, fixed! Now can we get back to playing some good games? :3

Good. This whole situation was silly and childish.
It will be great to see how the Kespa players do in the Code A qualifiers this season.

While I think Kespa is getting shit on unnecessarily here (this entire thing is just how business works, get over it), the foreigner scene had zero to do with any of these decisions.

The foreigner scene didn't bring a successful organisation to it's knees nor do anyone owe kespa or the OSL anything.
There's one big hype thing in SC2 right now and it's BW vs SC2 gamers clashing for the first time. eSF wanting that hype to be shared both by GOM and OSL isn't blackmailing, it's more like they want things to be fair...
