The sc2 grew with the addition of Kespa players switching to sc2. If you were watching sc2 before them you still will. While continuing to follow your current/past favorite players. Players can double dip, unless you're Kespa. Its pretty ridiculous that the ESF would react this way. You won't allow your players to play in our code a qualifiers, boo, hiss. So we decided we are going to pull our players out of your tournament already going on!

I think he meant this ESF withdrawal thing. Not a blizzard response. I think.

ESF was founded because the new teams didn't like the way KeSPA restricted player freedom, and it served to protect the ESF teams for awhile so that they could find sponsors and maintain their own autonomy. Them seeing KeSPA enforce restrictive rules like back in the old day, threatens the ESF teams. Eventually KeSPA will be one of the big decision-making organizations in the Korean SC2 scene, and if they have regulations which restrict KeSPA teams from participating in other tournaments, what is to stop them from setting out restrictive regulations for the ESF teams preventing them from competing in KeSPA-sanctioned tournaments some time in the future? This move will force OGN to force KeSPA to come to the table to talk things through, at least to salvage the upcoming OSL. One thing's for sure. GSL will survive with or without the KeSPA players at least for the next 1-2 years.

My only hope now is the the star Kespa players unite and speak out about their desires as players, then Kespa will be in a position where they have to be more reasonable and we all win. I feel the esf players are really making a personal sacrifice here for the greater good and we should all respect that for what it is. OSL means a huge amount to those players, so them pulling out like this should tell you how much this means to them.

Just...without any kespa players.
