They've done this because KeSPA decided to play dirty by not participating in the GSL. Obviously its not fair if the OSL are making money from the ESF vs KeSPA player storyline, while GOM gets nothing. If GOM wants to stay competitive it's probably the right move or they risk being pushed out, but at the same time unless they both agree to stop this nonsense and allow players to participate in both leagues then things will just escalate and get even more out of hand.

I don't know if things can get better from this though, its the second time that KeSPA has tried to screw GOM over so they're unlikely to ever trust them again now.

Fucking hell KeSPA you greedy snakes, why couldn't you have paid more attention to MVP's speech at the group selection.

or
GOM shoulda reached an agreement with KeSPA, something that brings players of each league to the others, but they didnt
GOM shoulda had a fix schedule, one that considered PL, OSL and stuffs so KeSPA couldnt just bail out citing the schedule, but they didnt

I do not side with KeSPA , but GOM did a bad job there. This is serious market share battle, and GOM naively believes in that bro agreement to "promote esport" lol KeSPA aint your bro man. KeSPA found a loophole in the way GOM doing business, and they will make the bear bite the dust

So what now? GOM( or ESF, whatever, this is for GOM's interest) is going apeshit over something they could have prevented. Totally understandable and typical for a youngster. But someone else with like ten years running this business will make them pay for that.

It's like you didn't even read the OP. If you can't be bothered to read the OP, why bother to post at all? I don't get it.

Guess not.

Seriously, GOM & co are such drama queens.

Just an FYI this is the players decisions. Nothing to do with GOM the players want to react themselves. Isn't that funny now you can't blame GOM as they don't have ANY control over the players in what they play or not.

Yes, let's trust bland PR statements because they're definitely being honest. -_-

It's literally the same thing on both sides and for literally the same reasons. Except the GSL players already committed to playing in OSL.

And GOM and ESF are close enough that it's silly to say it has nothing to do with GOM.

Are you saying that the god, Nestea, is lying?

It wouldn't. They don't plan on playing in the OSL already lol. They aren't going to try next season if kespa is still going to ban their players from playing in GSL.

permaban, every single ESF team? i would think that OSL still has more prestige than GSL in korea and korean bw fans greatly outnumber korean sc2 fans. i think ESF has more to lose from getting banned from OSL.

Gom is alway willing to acomodate players. Their schedules are fixed enough that it could have happened if Kespa wanted it.

how the fuck did OGN get stuck in the middle of this

Because OGN is part of Kespa committee that had a say in GSL boycott. They deserve it.

LOL you are pushing it.

Really? source

Read the article. That's exactly what it says.

That does not mean they "deserve it", if you dont understand.

OGN is television, OGN is simply a product, its like saying Microsoft deserves to be burned down because, their sales/resources affected their competitors.

It is not even that much of a big deal! Who cares if KESPA players aren't in the up coming GSL qualifiers this time! Jesus, now they have just spoilt an amazing tournament in OSL coming up. I'd much rather see KESPA vs KESPA for a bit longer anyway, maybe just one more season (2-3more months) as i think they still need a bit more time to be able to be ready for proper good games vs GSL players. Now we get another huge shit storm which might be the final nail in the coffin for this never to happen!

it's not about if they are ready or not, which osme clearly are,
it's about Kespa players showing they WANTED to participate in code A. Yet kespa being kespa didn't give them even a choice they said no they wont be participating they will paly in our own league

I really wonder what KeSPA was thinking though...
I actually think they had this planned just to start a battle over the power in SC2.
Even a monkey could have predicted ESF would pull their players out of the OSL after what KeSPA did to the GSL qualifiers.
There's no way they thought they could get away with it? right?

Youre missing one important factor.
ESF (and gom) have blizzard on their side. Theyve been VERY receptive to blizzard and working with them to make their esports scene grow.
Kespa is on a very short leash. Blizzard couldnt stop them in sc1; however, now that they HAVE to play on bnet for tourneys... Blizzard could blacklist kespa.

Keep that in mind.

Seriously, Korea is such a joke sometimes. They are more worried about trying kill each other to defend territorial pride than working together to promote and grow ESPORTS.

At this rate, the international scene will be stronger than Korea's. ESPORT isn't in a state right now where it's worth fighting scraps for.

And this is honestly a dick move by ESF.
