Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

Not so true for SC2 unless you count players achievements (before joining) and not team achievements. Its a big overstatement to me. so winning 2 MLGs, 2 IEMs, 1 NASL and an Asus ROG don't count? Did you not see the word EVERY? so I guess GSL, IPL, ESWC ... dont count? you are misunderstanding it. by major gaming circuit they mean the sc2 circuit, the SSFIV circuit and so on. Thats why they said circuit and not league.

not disputing the GSL and ESWC stuff but IdrA won IPL1, so there's that

American Soccer league, which had to restart "small". They're depending on the money from their sponsors, so of course they do everything they can to show Monster and Co that their investment was worth the price. Does it make sence to have 12 sponsors on your team shirt? yes it makes sense to have your sponsors on your shirt, regardless the number.

Does it make sence to have 12 sponsors on your team shirt? well given the fact that there are no korean mega-companies sponsoring foreigners having multiple sponsors seems like a good idea to me? At least that way if one sponsor has enough you still have some others left EG seems to be in a good financial position , so yeah , it does make sense

MLG is considered to be a circuit because everything happens in one event/weekend. GSL is more of a league that takes place over months.

I'd bet money that's fake. EG usually hypes there stuff up even if its something funny like the Thorzain video. Although I guess it's possible since his old FB is millstephano but I think there's probably some way for them to edit that without him giving up all his facebook fans.

He is performing very well and should get paid what he is worth! Therefore I like the change for him personally

EG is the New York Yankees of Esports except they don't win.

SK.STEPHANO WILL BE SO AMAZING

SlayerS-EG's chances of a second consecutive final in GSTL suddenly became a lot better.

Some of them believe with condescending pride that EG doesn't care about results and plays like a frat house. Even Stephano claimed EG practices all day.
Paying for people to go to Korea and cooperating with SlayerS to house players is definitely a sign that they don't care. Forcing IdrA to go to a a sports psychologist definitely is a sign they don't care.
I can't believe people I see in the community try to claim they're smart, mature adults. They may be adults but they're definitely neither smart nor mature. Smart and mature people look at the facts and express opinions BASED ON FACTS.
LOL, just like the people your defending eh?

This has turned from a EG curse circlejerk into an EG fanboy circlejerk.

On his facebook page they said they already changed the name once and that facebook only allows for one name change. They also said the new page is ready and they will send a link soon. It might be the one.
Edit : Of course nothing is sure, http://twitter.com/EGStephano for example is fake. The first twit is pretty funny actually :p

If your team has 12 sponsors, then yes? I don't really see what you are getting at. This concept isn't new or isolated to Starcraft.

why hate on EG for having sponsors? how else do you think they run a sustainable business? look at all the other teams shutting down left and right. EG knows how to get it done with respect to staying profitable, although not in terms of tournament results. believe me, you wanna cheer for EG, because if they fail, then this esports fad will be proven to be unsustainable failure as well.

Isn't it obvious why people hate on EG?
They are viewed as the corporation team of SC2, they are viewed as the team where the players whore themselves out for awesome salaries.
You even point it out yourself: Teams left and right are shutting down, but EG's not, because it has so many sponsors, which automatically begs for the question: How can you have so many sponsors if you're not selling out atleast a little?
Personally I get these opinions, because I feel they hold some truth as well, however I do realize that I have way too little insight in EG's business to actually go about and hate on EG, so I won't.
However I don't find it strange at all that people draw this conclusion about EG.

Well, how do you sell out?
Because I have no idea. Players play Starcraft regardless of the team they´re part of. Nothing changes except for the shirt they´re wearing. So where exactly are they doing anything out of the ordinary. One contract ends, another one begins... I´m kind of puzzled why that is a bad thing.

It is more because EG buys good players instead of growing its own and then those good players become average players.
