Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

From Geoff tweet. I totally agree with it.
I really love to see (if everythings go ok) Stephano playing under EG banner. They are best team ever, with personalities like Geoff who done to esports more than most of teams together, and IdrA - what would be S2 scene without him? And now, best foreigner joins EG. Thats really amazing.
And to all sponsor haters - for me it works this way - I see at Geoff stream that he uses steelseries stuff (I was using some random stuff before) . Im starting to reading reviews of it, and if it has good opinion and it suits me - im going to buy it - and im twice happy - I have really good gear (which I like a lot) and I'm supporting (maybe not in direct way, but still) my favourite SC2. Is it bad?
lmao
Everyone is replacable. Sorry. If it wasn't Greg people would latch onto someone else.
He thinks his team is the best. That's fine because we would sort of expect that thing coming from any player or else why would you play for them?
A bunch of fluff with not much substance. More exposure is not bad.

The thing is though, no other sport has it where athletes who produce little to no results, no matter how flamboyant their personality is, have a huge fan base. No other sport has it where broadcasters are paid more than the athletes themselves. The only players that produce results are Koreans, and they have little to no fan base because people claim they have no personality when in reality its just a language barrier. If people understood Korean, people would say otherwise. I'm not hating but it just boggles my mind about this whole infatuation about personalities in a world of sports.

how can eg possibly afford to take in all of these players like this?

Welp, at least we get ForGG.
Isn't ForGG supposed to stay in Europe like Dragon?

Ah well. I hate this. Hypocritical by EG considering the Orb thing. Stupid that EG buys talent. Stupid that that talent stops preforming once they've made it with a 6 figure salary. Stupid that they're fewer and fewer good foreign teams. Stupid that Stephano won't stay in Korea. Stupid that EG will market him to hell and look smug while doing it. TT

ROOT, if you consider that a team, got nothing. Mouz isn't doing very much either. Empire has their moments, but they're not winning anything either.
It's not like EG is the only team not doing spectacular. And even then, they actually are doing well. They're not winning, but they're certainly not doing the worst.
This isn't to say anything about Liquid or anything, I love most of their players in terms of personality, but they're certainly not very good (asides from the 2 I named. I don't consider Zenio to be very talented either).
THIS guy, knows how to put things in perspective. This should just be at the front page of the thread so the same people, won't say the same thing over and over again.

Strifecro/Louder/inka, any of these guys sound familiar? They all left the scene after joining EG. And of course (providing the hypothetical situation occurs) who WOULDN'T be unhappy if they couldn't be themselves?

They do produce results, they just don't win many major tournaments. There are basically three or four foreigners that actually produce "results" and koreans win everything else. Do quantic, complexity or dignitas foreigners regularly win anything significant? Foreigner teams don't win tournaments or when they do, it's a korean player who was already an established player when they bought him.
Anyway, you should direct your ire at the managements of these other teams who don't excel at what they do quite as much as EG clearly does.

Most likely EG but im hoping for liquid

I don't understand why people think that EG is a good team for esports. They are good at advertising sponsors and can throw a lot of money at their players because of that, but advertising is not an esports skill. What we need is team that are able to put a lot of pressure on the players to make them practice as hard as they can. With kespa players switching the korean scene will be even stronger than before, and if foreigners want to have a chance in major tournaments they have no other choice but to practice as hard as koreans. EG players have a lot of money and a strong fanbase no matter how they perform in tournaments, of course they don't improve. I think it's sad that our biggest "foreign hope" joins such team.

All of which have joined EG then left the scene, regardless. Also when was the last time anyone has heard anything from Strifecro (and I mean that seriously as I haven't heard a damn thing about the guy since he joined LgN)

It would be a great addition to EG. I like how they pick established champions to be in their team. They're doing things right.

hopefully he keeps on becoming relevant after joining EG, unlike just about everyone else that has joined lol

Well Louder left way way early. Did StrifeCro and iNkA leave sc2? say what? didn't iNkA join a new team? What i've seen from the players in EG is that their really good friends and stays good friends even if a few leaves that's just how it is sometimes. Louder were friends with the hole EG team before SC2 ever came out back in the old days. If you ask inka and strife or louder i don't think they got unhappy being a part of EG at all. I think being in EG no matter if you got "kicked, left" gives you a very good experience and boost for ur future career .

Huh ? Best offer is subjective. If his choice won't make him grow as a player, i don't see why people would keep rooting for him as a player. That's funny because EG gives it's players a ton of resources to improve as players and takes them all over the world. The only possible thing that could be a negative playing wise of being on EG is having to do sponsor type work which might give you less practice time. But considering Stephano isnt the type to do 12 hour days I'd guess it wouldnt hurt him. Look how much good that did Thorzain+Huk. Oh EG... Silly team that tries to buy the successful players. What is this post!?!! Do people not think anymore. Thorzain hasn't even been in EG long, and his skill level certainly hasn't deteriorated since joining. Huk's slump didn't start till long after joining EG, so that point is pretty damn irrelevant too.
Why isn't anyone complaining about the Liquid curse because Zenio hasn't really performed recently? It's just stupid guys, Stephano will continue to perform great, regardless of his team.

too bad Sk doesn't have the money to afford him, otherwise, he would be playing with LGIM in next GSTL.. which would be awesome lol
