Hello, couples!
Welcome to my new blog dedicated to couples gaming, specifically Starcraft. It seems that there are a lot of couples that play MMOs together, but there doesn’t really seem to be a community for competitive couples gaming.
I will use the word “competitive” a bit frivolously, as I’m pretty bad. But who cares? What if we all stink. Think about a few couples getting together for a poker tournament. Maybe someone there doesn’t know HOW to play poker. But still, they all place their bets and fumble through it and have a great time.
In this era, why can’t Starcraft be our poker tournaments?So what if we stink? Maybe we’ll just get together for a no money, no prize tournament to have a little fun and grow the couples competitive gaming community. I’ve done a little bit of googling this morning and have found very little on there even being Starcraft couples in existence. I found a post on the Starcraft site asking if there are any other couples that play, and it got zero replies (actually, there was 1 troller who did reply).
So let’s start here! Sure, we’ll be small. Maybe I’ll find one couple here. And maybe you’ll find another couple, and that couple will find another couple. At some point, we’ll put together some brackets and have ourselves a little play tournament. What have you got to lose? 20 minutes or your life
And just a look to the future. If we do find some people interested, I’ll start a website, so we have a space for a little community. I’d love to have a real “in-person” tournament. We live in California, so maybe a big hub area like LA or San Francisco would be a good place to get some couples together to meet up and play some SC2! Ya know, maybe have Day9 come commentate or something. It would be fun!
All skill levels are welcome (my wife and I will probably be the lowest ranked team, so don’t worry about not being “good enough to compete”)
