I've been thinking of these for a while..
1. I've played (and somewhat enjoyed) Zerg for a while, however, I find a lot more fun things to do with Terran or Protoss. I had the same problems with WoW and a lot with RPG's (Neverwinter Nights, in particular).... How do I pick a race?!
2. I've been under the alias of 'JungleNed' for around 3 years, but I've been trying to change it for a while now because.. well, it just doesn't roll off the tongue like other names do. I picked Rewdant because it's a anogram of 'Andrew' (my name) with a t. However, the name doesn't really 'roll off the tongue'. It doesn't really match with my personality. How do I pick a name? How did you pick a name?

by improving queens and overlords they've actually DESTROYED my fav opening on small maps vs zerg - 10 pylon-10gate. User was warned for this post I think the zerg buff was long needed. Zerg was underpowered before, but now that zergs are learning more builds and play styles,in combination with the overlord speed for scouting and new queen range to make it a little easier to defend in the early game zerg is now on par with the other races So ... what happenes to terran now ?! What opening do we use ? More hllions are not effective and prolongues siege tanks / 1 rax - FE , just puts zerg into macro mode or all-in / banchees delays your core army and doesn't denie the 3rd because buffed queens and hellions in small numbers can't deny creep anymore... and that s about all the viable buildings.
I go the 16 gas, naked factory reactor barracks into stim/shield/+1/6 hellion timing attack. There's a timing you can hit with some early marine/hellion if he goes early third that forces a few units.
I'm pretty sure you can find a Day9 Daily on it if you search/google "Illusion aggressive(or)aggression".

I blocked a player during a match (in the chat window) today, but when I watched the replay he continued to talk and apparently didn't notice it. I thought he should an error message or something?

No that's simply how it works. Chat is recorded in replays whether you block it or not.

1)Get the 1st syllable of your last name. If you can spell it differently then how it is usually traditionally done, the better.
2) Get the first letter or your first name and use it to for a second syllable together with 1 or 2 other letters.
Gin= a variation of the 1st syllable of my last name. Do= My first name begins with D.

You can also flip it around. DoGin.
My friends SC2 screen name is SoRec. Remember, that some times picking a name is hard, but once you stick to it for a while, it grows on you.

Personally I think there trash. Against Terran they aren't viable:
1) Terrans make marines. In BW hard counter to the BS 2 base carrier build was an MM Tank timing attack. Marines killed the interceptors, and the lack of splash resulted in the Protoss being crushed faced into the radioactive dirt of Korhal.
2) Vikings and AI. In BW Carriers would mess with unit AI. The new AI in SC2 is much easier to control and as a result units don't freak out as much. Not only that, but carriers had to be microed, a function that was removed in SC2. Also Terran have flying vikings, thus carriers can no longer abuse high ground.
ZvP. I don't really know, but it would really be hard to get to a critical mass of carriers. Also people forget that Interceptors don't heal, and can be FGed.

Carrier builds are generally only talked about in PvZ, and it can work. That doesn't mean it's the best thing, but it's neat to pull out once in a while. Harder to do it without getting scouted post buff, obviously, but hey, gotta be aware. It's not all about the carrier. Power point is that zergs could overreact and not know what to do against it, like a stronger version of the battlecruiser rush vs Zerg as well.
Pick your name to a random word that sounds cool, lol. This name makes no sense. I should change it sometime. You have to capitalize the right letters though, like Desktop vs DesktOp, see how op you look?
Is average points and win rate a useful stat for anyone? On SC2ranks it shows Z > P > T pretty clearly

I mean, I can get behind that average points and WR on ladder of all things doesn't add up to any form of argument, but 100 points discrepancy?
This coinciding with the ridiculous zerg streak we've been seeing these days, it's hard to believe that these zerg players actually got so ridiculously good so fast, or have been so ridiculously good and not performed like this before. The Zerg buff was probably just enough (more than enough???) to give them that push (whether it's in gameplay or perhaps more importantly, MINDSET) to perform really well on the stage. However I cannot deny that some terrans have just played,,, less than ideal :p
We can go back to a previous time, let' say 1.3.0, Terran sitting at 1236 globally and protoss at 1151. That's when TvP was basically unwinnable due to 1-1-1, right? :/
Heh I'm not sandbagging for my poor terran performance these days, D3 is has taken my time away ^^.
Enough of that, another topic is how potential hackers are reported.. We're just seeing threads with "___ hacking?"... It's not a great method I think because the thread itself gives people evidence. I think the link to the replay should be given, and the analysis spoilered so that people who intend to actually analyze the replay and not bandwagon on the shitstorm can do it without prior bias. I mean just reading one opinion can change how people approach a topic. What say you?

I figure that when the May 2012 stats come out people are just going to say T still imba. But then people will be saying all sorts of things won't they.

1.) To pick a race - This is really important and a lot of people struggle to find what race they like. The best way is to go with whats fun! Seems simple I know, but it is a game after all! If you play terran because a ton of people on TL tell you they are op and you play them, but hate them - you won't have fun. I suggest playing all 3 races until you find the one you enjoy the most, and then you have your answer! 
2.) A name. A name is what people see and identify you with and it is also very important. Again this isn't something that comes easy to a lot of people. You have to find something that you like. Sometimes it can be something very simple (people use names of items around them like Nestea did, or think of a product or thing they like or think is cool, like Jinro) Find something that calls to you, that you can be like "yeah, that's me".
As for my name well uhmm it's just kinda random, I liked it and it stuck :D

I have run into an issue with Starcraft 2, I bought it the other day (yay! :3) and I installed it and everything went smooth, but after I went to sign in and put in my authenticator and all that jazz and clicked login nothing happened and I left it there for about 15 min and still nothing happened. I tried so many times and googled my issue but I still have found no solution, perhaps I couldn't connect to blizzard but I tried close to 10 times. If someone has a solution it is much appreciated.

something that I have been asking myself for a while now: What has happened to Fenix? I mean I know he was picked up by IM, which was quite a big thing for me, but since then I feel he has completely disappeared, I haven't seen him on any tournaments (maybe I missed him), also I did not see him in the GSTL lineup (maybe I missed him there too) and he did not try to get into GSL via prelims. Has he returned home or something, because as far as I see this he is still on IM.

My name used to be Anti-Hero. Came from a Skateboard company. Creegz came from my high school nickname. My real name being Craig. Came from my friend who added an S on the end of my name one day, and it just stuck from Craigs to my other friend making it simpler to pronounce saying Creegz one day. It stuck from grade 10 to now, I'm 22 now.

Did Spades hack, or didn't he? I don't have the time to read through the whole thread to have my own opinion on it. I read, that PainUser said that he hacked. He seems to be a reasonable and trustworthy person. I just don't get it. Is there still doubt left for those who studied the replays?

Regardless of whether or not he did, one pattern I am noticing is that people tend to throw everything out of proportion, it's not like he won major tournaments by hacking. Realistically he may have cheated a couple people out of a few dollars, but nothing substantial.

Greetings TeamLiquid. I'm new to TeamLiquid, but all the big time casters (Day9, psy, Destiny, etc) have all refered to this site as the "heart of the starcraft community" so I figured I'd join the community and get to know the people. So far most of what I know about the SC2 community is what is published on YouTube.
Anyway, I'm a big fan of the Zerg (though they are a pain in the ass to get good with). On that note, I've got a few questions.
I've been having troubles knowing what to look for when scouting. I don't play terran and toss that much, and when I float my overlord in an opponents base at 6 minutes, I really don't know what I'm looking at and need to prepare for. I'm sure this topic has been discussed before, so can anyone point me in the general direction?
I havn't played SC2 in about 6 months, has anything major changed since last year?
anyway, good to be back to SC2, and I hope I can make a few contacts to game with here.

As a lower league Zerg player, my statements have to be taken with a grain of salt, but what I look for when scouting is when I'm against Terran and I see Gas by the time the barracks is completed, I can expect 1 of two things, banshees, or most likely, a quick factory into a few hellions to harass, in this case of hellions, make a couple spine crawlers and an extra queen. If I see another rax go down, get ready for marines, they will likely make siege tanks after a 3rd or 4th barracks, if they aren't doing much and it looks like they're walling the second a bit, expect a fast command center, make lings, attack and keep pressure on them as they will have minimal units.
Against protoss, gas is almost standard at around 12 supply, so one gate, gas goes down, but if they go no gas and make a forge outside their base, check for pylons at your base in case of cannon rush, but the usual approach to a forge outside the base is an attempt to forge fast expand (FFE). In this case, get to 3 bases and make roaches, do it FAST before their first push comes. Of course as Zerg you want to ALWAYS be at least one base ahead in mining. Push either of these races hard, keep pressure, but do not sacrifice any economy in doing so, just keep econ up and with spare larvae keep making units. Terran, also good practice as they are slower moving, move all of the overlords around the map for vision, they will be your greatest tool. GLHF
