changing your in-game sens changes your windows sens in game.. it doesn't make any sense, but thats how its currently programmed. instead of changing your in-game sens you need to use a different dpi

Seeing how much Flash moved his mouse during the MLG Kespa Invitational, seems like he, as an example, is just using the standard 400 dpi without changing the sensitivity from 1:1.

Here is what i know about mouse DPI as it relates to sc2 (and what not).

First i will say that i use a relatively high DPS mouse and what it has done for me is give me really really excellent micro control (I even beat GM's and pros in maps like morrows micro tournament).

The higher DPS means that your mouse can recognize more imaginary dots on your mousepad and thusly make your mouse movements on screen more accurate. what it can also do is increase the sensitivity of the mouse because it recognizes more dots of movement with a smaller sweep of the hand.

So to maximize precision with your mouse follow these steps:

0: maximize dps through mouse driver or mouse instructions

0.1: Remove windows accelleration (you may need to download a quick fix, just google "get rid of windows mouse accelleration"

1: Alter windows sensitivity to the lowest setting that doesn't annoy you. This makes your mouse slow but extremely accurate and precise.

2: load sc2 and put the sensitivity at around 15%... slowly creep the sensitivity up by increments of 1% until you find the most comfortable speed.

3: over time work on increasing your speed, as the faster your mouse moves in general the more you can physically get done in same/les amounts of time.

It makes a ridiculously large difference when you can quickly and comfortable select things like templars, or box the perfect portion of marines for splitting.

Speed and accuracy.... It literally lets you micro like pros do.

Your mouse will be a problem only if it is skipping pixels or has dumb accelleration. Some people need to play with low sensitivity, so it's really a comfort thing. Again the goal is to have the fastest mouse you are comfortable with whiule making it as accurate as possible through maximizing DPS before hand.

I ended up switching to a Zowie Mico which is nearly identical in shape. The mouse clicks take a bit more pressure though. Before that I used to set sensitivity to 70 something.

I can't believe all of them are playing with pixel skipping.
Gonna try it out at 1024x768, but I guess that resolution will be too high, too.

It's been a long time since he used that (GSL Open).
MKP uses a G9x now, with still relatively low DPI settings.

I have played with both LMO and zowie mico. When I used the mico I had 800dpi 6/12 in windows and 51% in Sc2. That felt good and I think it's like the best sensitivty to not have pixel skipping or to high DPI and sens. With the LMO with 400dpi I have 7/12 in windows and 61% in SC2 and it feels almost like with the mico, just a tiny bit slower but I like it. Check it out!

I'm playing in 1080p btw.
